hey i have softmodded my ps2. and im having a problem with HDloader. i added a 100gb IDE hdd to my ps2(fat) and the action replay thing and such. i wuz hopng to play the games my ps2 wont read anymore from a torrent. so i have an iso file right?. so i burned thedvd with it and placed it in my ps2 and launched hdloader. i clicked install and it said it isnt a validd disc. i tried some other discs but none worked. can anyone list a guide to help me? im using imgburn. what other software shold i use on my ps2? or is it my disc problem? list a detailed guide thanks.

the best route to fix this would be to just download winhiip. it is a program to directly install games from your computer to the ps2 hard drive. just download winhiip select your ps2 hard drive then select install game. it will ask you whether you want to install from disc or iso. select which ever one applies and then install. some of the games require compatibility modes. there is a list at sksapps.com the has a full list of ps2 games and if compatibility modes are needed.

is there a way to do this with out the bus? can i do it indrirectly throw my ps2 rather then getting one of those old skool harddrive serial buses?

Just put the ide drive in your pc and set the jumper to the slave setting. you might have to right click on my computer icon to manage your drives so that the pc will know its there but dont format it unless you do it through winhiip. If you have the original disk then you can install using your ps2 but that's the only way through your ps2 due to the fact that stock ps2's cant read backups. The drive will install just the way a pc ide drive installs but I wouldn't bother to mount it in because it will only be in there for a little bit.

have a laptop srry. cant do tht. my friend went on bootapps website(dont remember the name) and he can burn iso onto discs and put em in. he said he disabled the autherization check. does anyone now how to do tht?

I'm not sure how to do that but now I'm curious so after work I'm visiting a friend that knows. You could put the ide drive into a portable usb drive shell and do it that way but I'm not sure how much those cost. I do know tiger direct sells them with and without the drive in them but if you do that you don't want to get the sata style because the drive wont plug in to those type.
