I want to know how to make a back up of the ps2 game--so that should anything happened to the disc (like scratched), I can have no worries.

imgburn. that's it.

although, you will need a way to play backed up games; either modchip or softmod.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

What do you mean? Actually, I've played burned psx game (using ImgBurn) on my slim ps2. So, will the burned ps2 game be the same?
Thanks btw.

hi bunalz3,
burn and rip all games with DVD Decrypter , at all time on 2.4x(i never got dvd, which support slower burn speed); dont worry if sometimes DVD Decryter write: writing speed 3.6x, i got it many times and copy disc was OK; sometimes i got burn problems with SONY dvds, this dvd do not support speed under 4x, and 4x is MAX speed for poss. to play on PS2, so be carefully with writing speed wroted on cover of dvd;
or see all discusion on this server here ;

-cee43ja1 mean, you must have some emulation on your console(like some chip , or McBOOT ; exist also SwapMagic , but i think you dont use this one, coz you must have also especialy upgraded your console-like new doors, block some sensors, usw.).

DVD Decrypter is not necessary use imgburn create iso then use imgburn to burn to dvd, as for burning speed on single layer dvd 4-8x is what i use as for DVD DL that will depend on it's rated burn speed so if you got a 8x DL disc you can burn @ 8x safely so long as it's a verbatim,any other type of DL disk i would steer clear of & yeah use verbs for both single & dual type disks,quality counts *winks*

Just recently, I wanted to backup my Suikoden V game--more like wanting to make copies of it, since I hardly find it in shops.

Anyway, the thing is when I tried to make the image file from the disc, and when it finished, I only got a .rar file named "Image" and a .mds file also with the same name. I can't possibly be burning the .mds file since it's only 5 KB. And when I extract the .rar file, it didn't make any sense...

I read from threads to threads, and from posts to posts (well, not all of them for some obvious reasons) and the problem seems to happen to me only...I'm desperate for help...

No worries. The MDS file is almost like the .cue file for a .bin file. DVD decrypter is able to read this and burn your IMG file correctly.

So you have winrar installed yes ? then untick it from being the default handler of ISO files,then again your post sounds like you have a disc that was burned as data since PS2 games are not rar files

rdn98, are you sure that I have to burn the mds file? It's only 5 KB.

scorpNZ, what do you mean that I have to untick it? Then what am I going to do with the file?

You select the 5kb file the software takes care of the rest

It depends whether or not you have winrar installed as to whether unticking ISO file associations will have any effect as i said PS2 games are not rars therefore this game is not an original it will have come from a torrent

O.K. So it actually works...burned the .mds file regardless having the image file in .rar format. Thanks and sorry for the trouble--I just don't want to unnecessarily waste a DVD/CD.

Did you use alcohol 120% to burn the file?
