Hey all. First post. I have a Slim PS2 (77001/v12 I believe) and it is modded. I bought it from www.DrModChip.com about 2-3 years ago, which has since been shutdown by the MPAA. Of such, I can't check what mod is installed, short of opening my PS2, which I have tried and I stopped, since I didn't want to break anything.

If this helps, I got the PS2 with the pre-installed mod chip that DOES NOT support burned dual-layer media (games/movies).

There isn't any physical damage to the PS2 as far as I can see.

I've tried to clean the lens, but that didn't seem to help.

I've done everything except spending money on replacement parts, and I won't do that unless I have no other options.

Here's what DOES work:
? Anything legit, including movies and legit pressed/purchased PS2 games.

Here's what DOESN'T work:
? Any backed up games such as Tomb Raider: Legend or Katamari Damacy

My question is: is there anyway to reset the PS2 to defaults, as well as setting the mod to its defaults as well?
