Hey Guys,
I'm a noob to this whole thang using swap magic, so what I did was follow the instructions down to the finest of details - it worked for several games (PAL and NTSC) so though i'd buy some orginal games from the States (i'm in South Africa).
Get my Guitar Hero 5 (NTSC) today, shoved the sm disc in, did the whole swopsy thing and I can hear the PS2 reading the disc then it just comes back and says "not an orginal PS2 disc" or something along those liens.
I even tried it with a special boot but the exact same.
Someone please help!

just thought about copying the disc using dvdfab but it came up that the disc is a dvd-9 (is that dual layer?) so that's why swap magic can't see it?
If so, is there a workaround for this?

You will need to use DVD Decrypter or Imgburn to back up PS2 games, including DVD9 games.
Then just burn the image with the same program on Verbatim DL DVD+R at about 2.4x speed.
Set BOOKTYPE to DVD-ROM. For some drives, imgburn will do this automatically.

ok so swap magic can't work with dvd9 original games then coz of the toc?
So there's no other way round it other than to try and copy the game and see if that works but won't I have the same problem considering it will still be a dvd9 disc???

Lol
Just read it slowly.
I do know if you have the Swap Magic 3.8, that it will boot the DVD9 backup using the TOC refresh. Doesn't work with SM 3.6

you're obviously a genius or something, coz i can't make head nor tails outta that ripkit stuff....how the hell do you use that stuff??
I ran through it all and got to a certain point then it asked for the tracks using the gh5rip.bat file....anyway, think i've given up tbh.
Oh hey, by refreshing to toc you mean put in the sm disc, then eject it and put in the original disc?

Lol the instructions are pretty simple
Instructions:
------------------
Extract "GH5 RipKit-Drake.7z" into a new folder.
Extract your GH5 ISO into the kit folder using Apache3.
Run "gh5rip.bat" and walk away for about half an hour
You first need to create the DVD9 ISO using DVD decrypter or imgburn
By TOC I mean
Boot up your SM
Press EJECT
Insert the Original DVD9 game
It will read the TOC, when finished it will ask you to now swap for the backup
Do this by using your swap method
If your using a Slim PS2 with Magic keys, you will need to remove TOOL A for the EJECT, replace SM disc with larger TOC size disc, then reinstall Magic Switch ?Tool A?
If you have Flip top installed, then just EJECT

You just have to doubleclick on the .bat file and it will run as long as you have extracted all files into the folder.
