Hey Everyone,
I'm havng technically problems playing my Front Mission 5: Scars of War back-up/burned disc. I burned the copy of the game not directly from the original copy itself but from a Memorex DVD+R copy of the game onto a SonyDVD-R (manufacturer ID: Sony16D1). I'm using swap magic 3.6 to start up the game and after 2 minutes of loading the game begins and the opening FMV begins but stop abruptly after 5 seconds and continues and then does the same process over. So I skip the game takes 15-30 seconds to load a new screen and the ingame and intermission cutscenes do the exact same actions as the opening movie. Also the BGM during gameplay cuts off after 5 seconds then continues again just like the movies and cutscenes.
I cleaned my ps2 slim SCPH 70001 disc tray rotator, where the CD is placed to play a game, but thats it. I haven't touched the lens or anything for that matter.
I'm looking a solution to resolve this problem and have a upscale version or identical version of Front Mission 5 thats in english, oh ya I forgot the back-up copies have the Front Misssion 5 Fan English translation. SO any ideas on how to increase the performance of the game to make it run like if it was the original copy.
Also I heard that PS2 copy or torrent downloaded from the computer would be the exact same thing as copying it from an original disc.
Any ideas, help, advice, tips would be extremely helpful, thank you

sony and verbatim are the best to take off with..
but if not available moserbaer also will do...
btw how old is you ps2...your laser maybe wearing out..
i figuered out the porblem about 3 weeks ago it was my laser, so if anyone needs to know use a q-tip not cotton swap and clean your ps2 laser lens with alcohol, rubbing alcohol works fine. rotate the q-tip with the alcohol on the q-tip on the lens about 2 times and push down on the lens, not too hard though. It should read you back-ps if not then its probably something else and surprisingly the 2nd class media of a sony work better then the verbatim media, so try different media discs.
