Hey everyone. I'm pretty new to this forum, but have been lurking around as a guest. It's quite amazing. I recently just got a PS2, modded, Matrix Infinity v.1.88 for quite cheap. It came with several burnt games. These games run perfectly and stuff. They're burnt on to hp invent dvd - r 8X 4.7gb discs, and there's one on some DVD+r disc. They all work fine. I, over the weekend, downloaded and burnt a bunch of games on to some DVD+R discs using IMGBURNER 2.56 or whatever (the newest one). I'm thinking it would all be fine. Guess not. The discs I burnt don't work properly. For example, my GTA San Andreas just doesn't load up. It doesn't even give me the 'PS2 blah blah blah' splash screen. Just a black screen. However, games like Katamari Damacy and Kingdom Hearts SOMEWHAT load. What happens with kingdom hearts is that after I select the difficulty and yadayadayada and am about to start actually playing it goes to a black screen... For Katamari, as soon as I start it, and the game is loading (shows this tiny thing in the bottom right corner spinning), it just freezes at this loading screen. I mean, I left it on loading for like 30 minutes, no dice. The thing in the corner was still spinning though. I really am upset. I'd like some help on what to do. Oh, just an addition. I also downloaded a .bin and .cue Marvel vs Capcom 2 and burnt that on to a memorex CD and that worked fine. Thanks again. Sorry for the wall of text. Please help~

Sincerely,
Kevin

(LET ME ADD that I have a PS2 Slim. IDK what model number, if someone could tell me where to find it, I can post)

model number on underside on the label
SPCHXXXXXX or somth'n like that

piracy talk not allowed however backup of your own games is

games not working could be anything, check the comments of where it came from to see if others have issues, burn speed could be a factor i seldom go over 6x on verbs if your using shite quality media it'd be better to drop down to 4x or even 2x

I tried burning GTA at 4X and that gave me the same results (black screen). I think it is my discs that are crappy.

I've never used downloaded games i've seen too many posts in ps2 & xbox & xbox 360 sections all saying what you are the burned games don't work,so make my own instead haven't had a failure yet apart from the odd 360 game where i burnt too fast.

what brand of discs are you using? some good brands are Sony and Verbatim just stick to those and you shouldn't have any problems. stay away from tdk ativa and office store brands they tend to not work for as long as other media and some can kill your ps2's laser.
