I don't know how to phrase my problem in the topic title. By "multiple discs", I mean a game that has more than one disc, like most RPGs in the PS1 era (some PS2 games have multiple discs as well, hence this topic). So basically, what I want to know is, do you need to have BOTH discs extracted and combined into one ISO? In other words, do both discs need to be one ISO, or can they be seperate? Because I tried to burn just Disc 2 alone (I need a backup of Disc 2 for Xenosaga 3, I already own the game), and it kind of worked, but after the first few logos pop up, the screen stays blank and the title screen never appears. Please help; I hope my question made sense. I really need to find out why it's not working, because I really need a backup.

For most 2 disc games you need to save at the end of the first game.
Also you need your PS2 modded to play backup games.
How did you burn the backup? What speed, brand of disc and type.

Yeah, I have a flip top and Swap Magic. I burned it at a speed of 8x (half of the speed of the disc). The type of media is Maxell, though I ordered some Verbatim off of Ebay which should be coming in soon. And it's a DVD-R.

Well I don't know what your burner specs are, but you could try burning it at 4x with imgburn and see if that makes a difference or not.

I used DVD Decrypter. I just tried to burn it again about 3 hours ago and I get the same result; the first few logos pop up, but the screen stays blank and the title screen doesn't appear. I didn't change the speed or anything, but I thought I may have used a bad disc before. Thanks for your suggestion. So what would happen if I got both discs and combined them into one ISO, then tried to burn it? Would it be two discs in one or would it even work? I may just have to end up buying this game again.
Oh and I dunno what my burner specs are either. lol

Xenosaga II and Xenosaga III come as 2 disc sets.
So that is how the backups are made also.
I have all 3 sets of Xenosaga but have only played the first of the series, and just started Xenosaga II.
Maxell is 1st class media - http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm
I have my Xenosaga 3 disc 1 and 2 on my hdd, so I just tried the disc 2 on there, and it says to load disc 1 of course because I haven't played disc 1 yet.
I would just try burning at 4x if you don't mind wasting another disc.

Oh, so Verbatim is the perfect choice then. Thanks a lot for that site! It may come in handy. Is there a similar site for CDs? And I already have like three clear game files of Xenosaga 3 on my memory card, so files aren't a problem for me.
Also, should I do it at x4 on imgburn or DVD Decrypter? I have one more Maxell disc, so I've got nothing better to do than to potentially waste it, since I'm soon going to have 100 more discs that are better anyways.

That site should list the CD's as well.
I personally would upgrade to the successor imgburn. It is newer.

I got the same result even while burning it with ImgBurn at a speed of x4. I'm thinking that it's a bad ISO.

That could very well be. Sometimes its a good idea if there are comments on the ISO where you obtained it from, to see if other people had problems with it or not.

I think the site I got it from had no comments section. I did find one recently that had positive comments, but I thought it was the same one I got, just from a different site... All I can do is try since it's really, really hard to find an ISO of this game that's not an undub.
