PS2 CD Backups with Free Mcboot Exploit

K, I've searched and I've searched but I cannot find the correct answer so I fold and ask the question myself. I have done the memory card exploit using free mcboot and everything runs copacetic. I figured out how to run ps2 dvd packups with the whole esr patching and what not. But my question is, how or what does it take to run a PS2 cd backup game? I tried the DVDscan tutorial, and no success. I've seen other people ask this question but somehow down the line the posts turn into dvd backup answers. My one fear is that I have to do a swap method. I'm trying to keep this simple for my son who is autistic. The less you have to do the better. I appreciate any info anyone can provide.

That is basically the only method , convert CD>DVD using either of two tutorials.

There are a few CD that require using a hex editor to get them to work, but you would have to do a search on those game titles.

Otherwise the only other way is to use SM CD ELF file, but even with fmcb 1.8 it requires you to have an original CD in the tray first.
