Hi guys,

I found an abandoned old fat PS2 on the street the other day (for real!)
I've tested it a little bit, and found that horrible red screen ("please insert a playstation or playstation 2 format disc").

So I read here a few threads and I bought a new laser lens from ebay, installed it, and since, I managed to run one original PS2 game a couple of times (Tekken 4).
The problem is, sometimes it would still show the red screen and won't read the same disc.

I have no idea if it was modchiped before, but it can't run backup games anyway.

Does anyone have an idea of what can be the problem now?

Try adjusting the resistors for the laser:
