Help on Fixing PS2 FAT

Hello, saw some things on fixing the PS2 FAT. I opened it up and did what it told me to do. I cleaned up the lens with some rubbing alcohol doing it carefully which did nothing I also adjusted the gear a little bit but had no success. Help would be greatly appreciated.
The disk I currently just tested has a silver back. I have also a harry potter game with a blue back wich loaded fine but when started the game it froze at the load screen. (This was before I started tinkering with the cogs)
