PS2 Laser not moving V7 SCPH 39001

Hello everyone,

I was wondering could it be the power eject ribbon cable? On the laser I tore off the little black /brown cable holder and had to glue it to hold, could this also be the problem? I really hope I can fix this as the PS2 has been untouched for about 2 months with me trying to find solutions.

I have also checked other forums such as emuparadise.me (Same username their as well) and I figure with more forums comes more diverse answers and a higher change of success :-)

P.S. I was also wondering if the v7 PS2 can use the KHS-400C laser instead of the HD7 laser type. I have the system modded with a modbo 4.0 v1.99 but the laser doesn't move (hence my post).
