TY, I have ordered the Kingston HyperX RAM 2x512MB.
And, the Volcano 12 is on its way.
I'll let you know how the install goes, and if the temps go down.

hehe, found some instabilities with the 200x12.5, so now ive gone with 184x12.5 (1.7V) to get 2300mhz, works very stable, tested with prime95, now going to leave it overnight to see if any problems arise. Running on 36C idle / 45C full load.
PS. i have 6 case fans and good incase air circulation.

ok, at 2,3ghz even 2,4ghz runs!! great im at 2.4ghz with vcore 1.775v just for a while runs great but i think ill leave most of the time at 2.3ghz some day ill go for the 2.5 g and stable jejejeje.

sup peeps... just a quick note to say got it up to 2.48Ghz.... cleaned my aero 7 and sank it on an akasa heat sink.. voltage is now at max (1.85) so i don't think its gonna go any higher unless i get water cooling or something.... still... atleast it hasn't blown yet... prime 95 ran for 7hrs and no errors or crashes. slowly getting there...

Tryhard, you can basically push your cpu to any limit within reason. Just as long as it stays cool. But remember, overclocking isnt about numbers (Thanks Dr. XP lol ;) ) You want to take your computer to a point where you are getting the maximum performance but still remaining stable and cool. If you get too crazy about overclocking and cooling, you'll realize that all that money you spent on fans or a water cooler, or thermal grease and everything could have just gone to a better processor.

thx xp was having trouble keeping the temps down, i don't know if this has been said b4 but i found after very hot temps under prime 95 i'd see why it was getting so hot (55c idle 65c full load). not enough cooling in the case, i took my side cover off and tried again..... 45c idle 55c fully loaded. so if ur getting very hot it may not be the cpu fan but the case itself not expelling the hot air, im gonna leave my cover off till i get a decent case, also i found an old and small cpu fan that runs at 5500rpm so i glued that to the side of my aero7 to force cold air in the turbine and it works a treat....How cheap am i!!!!lol

I think i can be able to speak for most of us when I say that We get better satisfaction out of overclocking our computers without the help of water. You just get a better feeling knowing that you can do it all on air, besides why spend the money on a watercooler when you can just get a better processor.

I have to disagree with you kalunjoku, I would be more satisfied if my processor was cooled by water. Who needs a noisy fan?
My mates Thermaltake Aquarius looks quite sweet atop his PC! Anything to the temps down!

So would I, but fiscal restraints can be overwhelming. You could argue the toss all day of what you could & could not use.
In my opinion it is a facile debate. As long as you have a reasonable processor & a decent graphics card (In my humble opinion, the most important), you will not go far wrong.
I will leave this discusssion to all you clocking types!

I have a question for you guys about cooling. I have an xp2800 with a stock hsf, and an abit an7 motherboard, and 2 gigs of pc3200 generic memory in dual channel. I have overclocked my comp to 2.19ghz and everything is stable, i've actually gotten it to run around 2.28 but it gets too hot. My computer has gotten up to 68 degrees. Can anyone recommend a good hsf to lower my temp? I purchased the zalman copper hsf but then i found out it was incompatible with my motherboard. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Thermaltake Volcano 12 Cooler. I think Dr.XP has one too and I like mine and I'm sure he does too. It's a bit on the loud side...like vacum cleaner loud...But if it's making noise it's working right?

kolanjoku i support you 100% in everything, and yes i have a volcano 12 i love that fan!!!! its loud but is a monster cooler.
i love air cooling as you said i fell good with my airflow in my case because i put it together.water is xpensive an you just plug the tubes and thats it theres no fun in that!!!

i have it running at 2500Mhz at the mo on prime 95 and it seems ok. been running for about an hr now and temps are 55c cpu, 35c on the mobo using PC probe. i would definitly recommend the A7N8X-deluxe for overclocking, before i could only get it to 2350. i had it at 2525 last night but it was unstable. def gonna go with the volcano (thx xp) when i get a decent case. anyone having trouble with heat should try leaving the case off when you overclock so heat doesnt build up in the case, otherwise the cpu fan is just sucking in warm air, after u have the most efficient oc then sort the airflow out.... thats only from my experience cos the heat in the case was holding me back and i havent changed the HSF yet. if it stays stable im gonna leave it there. YEAH RIGHT!!

hello game name, athlon xp 2400 is one of the best to overclock!! if you planning to overclock get a nforce 2 chipset base motherboard, via kt600 is a verygood chipset but is not so stable in high fsb they say the kt800 is but nothin so flexible and stable as nvidia nforce 2 mobos most populars among overclokers:

I have a Athlon XP 2800+ with only stock cooling, Corsair XMS PC-2700 333 mhz,the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe . The fsb is currently 350 mhz and my memory is synced with it. When i pumped it up to 180 mhz it crashes. I have no problems with heat, so i quess my question is would anyone here know if the processor probably just cant be pushed any further or if its because the memory cant handle the speed?

the problem is the mem fsb 180mhz(360mhz mem that is clock at 333mhz) ddr 400mhz (pc-3200) can cope with even 200 fsb (2x200=400).
