i'm honestly suprised no one's jumped in here to yell "save your money and get a Plextor!" hmm....anyhoo, i have a sony and have never had any problems with it other than the time it takes to burn. Never quite as fast as it should be :) and because i'm a conniving bastard, i'm putting my vote on Pioneer.

Most my products are Pioneer.. I've purchased Sony stuff and I've had problems with them. I still have a Sony surround sound system, but only because I coulden't affort the pioneer one. My home stereo, car stereo, dvd player, dvd reader and dvd burner are all pioneer.. I woulden't have it any other way... :)
