try some other clients like abc or bitcomet or something like that. i used to have slow downloads even though i had opened my ports and things and now i get fast ones and i use both abc and bitcomet. Some torrents are in the 200's but i average around 50.

FartDude, I need your help in configuring Azereus:

I have a cable 640kbps/128Kbps connection and also have Java and Azureus installed with the following conf:
Incoming TCP listen port = 55301
Max global upload speed=5KB/s
Max global download speed=unlimited
Max upload slots per torrent=5
Max connections per torrent=50
Max connections globally=500
UDP tracker client protocol NOT ENABLE
UPnP NOT ENABLE
Autospeed ENABLE
Tracker on HTTP port NOT ENABLE
Tracker on HTTPS port NOT ENABLE
Max simultaneous downloads=2
Max active torrents=3

On my Linksys Wireless B Broadband Router BEFW11S4 v4, I forwarded the port 55301 TCP to Internal IP address 192.168.1.72 (The IP of the Intel Pro/100 VE Network Adapter connected to the router)

My Windows XPsp2 Firewall is ON, with the following exceptions:
Azureus.exe
Javaw.exe
Azureus TCP port 55301

With this configurations I can get 1.5-2 Kb/s download speed and 12-15 Kb/s upload speed. What may be wrong? Several guys get 125 Kb/s download speed, and more.

Can someone help?
Tks

Downloads are proportinate somewhat to upload speeds. If your router is configured right i believe you still need to open that port number in the xp firewall.
Secondly i would up my upload speed to say 20 and see what your download speed is.
Is your light yellow or green besides the torrent you are downloading.
Also try a torrent that has a lot of seeders. Check to see what peers are sharing and seeding and see what thier connection is. If they aren a high conecton you will never get fast downloads.
So i say open the xp firewall port the same as you have in your router and up your upload speed!

also try limiting download speed to something like 500.
i get speeds n excess of 200 at times and average around 90-140.
i will look when i get home at my exact confige since i am at work and cant remember!

is your light still yellow?
Also the torrent you are trying to download how many seeders? Leechers? How long did you keep it open?
Are you sure that your ports are opened right. Did you just open a single port or do a port range?

Allright, let's see: I've got only one port opened for it seems to me that Azureus only uses one TCP port, I'm trying to DL only one file, I'he a healthy green face, and I'm connected to 10 seeds and 4 peers.
I've tried everything, I desabled windows firewall, I enabled DMZ on the router, I port forwarded, port triggered and UPnP forwarded.... nothing seems to solve the problem, I STILL HAVE 1,5-3,1 kb/s dl speeds

I had problems with ABC and BitTorrent. If your downloads are going slower than they should, there is a reason. I have a BT 1250 router with a 1Mb/s connection, and my downloads were going at 10kB/s average. So I opened ports 6881-6999 on my routers firewall, and turned off my windows XP firewall. All downloads are green. And now my downloads are averaging 105kB/s which is as fast as I would expect.

Can anyone give me some advice. I have recently got 1024/256 broadband from Tiscali uk. I installed the latest Azureus and was downloading at speeds of up to 100k/s. Then out of the blue my speeds decreased to around 2-6k/s. To begin with I hadn't enabled the port forwarding on my router. I also ran a tweak test from www.dslreports.com and ran DrTCP on my system to give me optimum broadband setting and used the recommended TCP port. I enabled this port on my router thinking it would solve the problem. I tested this port on Azureus and it was fine. But after 12 hours the download speeds were still 3kB/s even though there 21 seeds and 54 peers. I've disabled windows firewall and that hasn't helped. I've changed ports but to no avail. dslreports my download speed at around 750kb/s.
I just cannot understand how when I didn't have a clue about the tweaking and the port forwarding I was getting massive download speeds and now I'm getting in comparison very slow rates even though I've followed all the advice in this forum. Can anyone give me any reason why this has happened. To test my connection I downloaded a dj set from a website at 50Kb/s so my connection is pretty good. Is this something to do with my ISP somehow restricting my download bandwidth? I'm just a little frustrated!

@xeno16
i have a feeling your lan is 100Mbps. not your internet connection,

http://forums.degreez.net/

if you got the yellow light that means you're behind a firewall. port is closed, that is bad.
take a look at the faq here.
it could be you or your ISP server thats firewalled.
there's a script on the degreez forum, that will check whether your port is open or not.

http://www.bittornado.com/

switch off your winXP firewall. its worthless.
if you're behind a router its safe enough. if not, get sygate firewall.

if you got a green light but still slow. that would either mean the client is b0rk or there's no peers :)
