I am a complete novice to this and have been told that I need to get something called ASPI LAyer in order to rip DVDs as I have the WindowsXP operating system installed.

What is ASPI layer - and can anyone tell me where I can get it??

ASPI is an alternative method for reading CD or DVD discs, developed originally by Adaptec. You can download ForceASPI from our site that installs ASPI drivers to your system:
