I currently use Kazaa for downloading songs and a few video clips but more than half of the things that I download never do . they either need to find more sorces or show up remote. I also tried Grokster and Limewire but I have the same problems . Can Someone tell me of another site where I can get good music tracks and video clips to download completely with breaking .

try WinMX or Bittorent. But if you really want the good downloads, leave the P2P crap behind, and start using IRC.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. You can use it to talk to others online, as well as transfer files. There are hundreds of different servers with thousands of channels. Think of it like AIM but on severe steroids, and much much MUCH better. To connect to the IRC channels, you need a client program, such as mIRC. You can get it from download.com. After installing it, check out these two sites:
www.packetnews.com
www.ircspy.com
They are the main search engines for searching for files on IRC servers. They also contain guides as to how to setup mIRC, and how to download files. Its a bit more complicated than using P2P appz, but well worth it.

I find Limewire to be very good for downloading mp3's, but for movies and games, I would also suggest IRC and also using a bittorrent client.

Hi LoNeR

All this jargon is so new to me and confusing. The reason I am here is because my daughter got a dell pocket dj for Christmas and I am trying my darnest to learn how to download music etc. I see you have my IP,Server Info Etc. can you tell me what I should do so that all my info is not so easy for others to retrieve. Sorry for the ignorance.
Also, which program is good for downloading music with dialup? I have tried limewire but download time was terrible. (40m+ per song) It seems I too have been burned by scammers??? I have paid for music sites that I have since learned are free??? Do you know if allofmp3 is a legit site and will it be faster for downloading if you are paying of the track? Thanks for your help Robin

1. the info you see is only for you to see - don't worry i can't see it, i see my info.
because its a free service offered by www.danasoft.com.

2. no i can't - you information is their because u are visiting a site, when u do so they know your details just like the sign. their are proxies but for dialup they would be no use.

3. don't pay for software/sites to download things, their all total ripoffs and still illegal - except u have more chance of getting caught when your paying for it.

4. my opinion? for dialup? IRC maybe or bittorrent - they are the best. you could possibly try kazaa lite...

5. i wanna clear something up - Morpheus/Limewire/Napster/Emule Are All Crap, none of them work right - forget them.

6. learn to use IRC or Bittorrent

happy Leechin

The IRC good for downloading full albums but not single mp3's because you most likely will have to wait in queue and it really isn't convinient for downloading a 4mb file. For downloading single mp3's I would suggest Kazaa lite or imesh. I have had success with Limewire but others haven't.

The fact of the matter is that if you are using dial up it is inevitable that you will have slow download speeds no matter what program you use.

I would also like to say that emule is not crap it's just slow(bad for dial up). However it's good for downloading files you can't find on programs like Kazaa/imesh/Limewire/Morpheus etc(such as full albums). Also you are much less likely to get a fake file or a virus using emule than you are using one of the programs mentioned above.

For downloading movies you are definately best of using either the IRC or Bittorrent.

I use LimeWire. I only get into IRCs for the heavy stuff. LimeWire is great for donwloading a single track, but most movies on it are crap. If you want movies join a news group. Fast downloads becuz they are either on T3, or optics. But you better contribute, because a lot of them are personal. Also only join ones that have a avg of like 30,000 people on it in risk of getting caught. Not that you would be downloading illegal content anyway.

Bye the way if your still using Kazaa go dump out your piggy bank, buy a suit, find a good lawyer and be prepared to take on the entire judicial system. Kazaa is the most vounerable P2P out there, because its for beginners who share their music, and think, "I wont get caught I only download a few songs." The industry goes after people who share, and belong to very large P2Ps. K++ is no better. Also why the hell would you want all that spyware. winmx, kazaa, morpheus, bearshare or whatever, they are just loaded with that stuff.

irc
you can get onto that by xchat or mirc

either of those you can download thru google which will point you in the direction

bittorrent you need a client abc azereas bittorrent v3.9 is the latest for that client ......

you need to do some configuring with bt if you have a wireless router

then search for a bittorrent forum

theres a few good ones still out there .....bittorrent is alot simpler than irc ....but the speeds of irc are much faster it depends how much time your willing to put in to learn

I am using one right now, sorry I can not share the name, and I pay for it. Right now I just did a trial offer. I dont like donwloading movies, I would prefer to go to blockbuster and rent it, and if I cant find $7 more to buy it then I will put it on my CPUs hard drive if I want to watch it later. Anyways, I was fasincated by the technology so I decided to download a file. I already own both the Bourne Supremecy and Bourne Identity, so I downloaded those 2 files. I can only do 1 donwload at a time, and I have limited GB/ day. Identity downloaded in 3 hours, and Supremecy, although it didnt start downloading to the fallowing day, downloaded in 2 hours. I burned Supremecy on to a disc, put it in my slimline PS2, and watched it on my 40" Wega. It looked fantastic. It was full screen, even thought the download said wide, but that didnt bother me. After liking what I saw, I deleted the program from my computer, knowing that I would download 50 movies a dy if I had the time. I then throught Supremecy out.

And the fastest place to download music is still iTunes :-D
