The problems I had May well be a local thing as far as bad pressings go, but our blockbuster has had 17 disks returned already, walmart says they are getting alot back there to. But once again I just called the local store, I didnt call Bentonville Arkansas to the main store, or the main BlockBuster Head quarters. I was using the latest version of DVD Decrypter like everyone was saying worked with it, But if you read this thread and many others, you get alot of ppl saying they did it with this, that and the other. Some of those posters are full of beans......... I have yet to see anyone address my question about the movies Glitch in the timeline that I was running into on these disks, ppl that back something up dont always watch from the back up to see that it truely plays from end to end, they usually just fast forward threw it ..... Now my back up plays , but it has a little skip in time on it .......... the original that I backed up from Freezes 1h12m24s So ppl should check to see if the movie will play between 1h12m20s without glitch to 1h13m10s. I hope someone will post saying they checked this out.

I checked it out yesterday but didnt bother to reply because my backup played through the times you sugggested without any problems. I lent my original out to a friend but, I will check it out when it returns. However, I would assume that if the copy/backup doesnt skip at that point, then neither should the original.

Thanks ericbee, at least someone checked it, From all I can tell its a local thing here, but I wouldnt think Walmart and BlockBuster got thier movies from the same batch, but then again Walmart built a new super center here and BlockBuster Moved in Right next door, before that they were by the old Walmart so maybe they do get things near the same time from the same places. Either way I am going to order the movie online as I have yet to get one to back up right for me. I got two of them from Walmart and finally I took the last one back and got my money back. I just couldnt understand why some ppl got so upset about it. I used the latest Software on it. I even downloaded AnyDVD to use that, I have tried so many differant rippers its not even funny. I was beginning to think it was me or my equipment, with all the replys about how everyone got it done with this or that, but most of my stuff is only months old I constantly upgrade my computers, there is always something getting changed on them, and my home DVD Player isnt that old either, I got it so I could watch any DiVx movies I have. And thats only two months old.

You Might be suprised what I can do with a can of brasso and several hours of polishing on a dvd LOL...... I wonder how many have used that trick or would dare LOL Great for takeing out small scratches if only use a very soft cloth and are very careful not to get it on the lable side , just the reading surface.

Thanks for all your help on Spanglish. While I tried 1ClickDVD (I own and downloaded the latest), DVDdecryptor, DVDShrink, with DVD43 and AnyDVD --all the latest downloads --nothing worked until someone mentioned CloneDVD and AnyDVD (I already own AnyDVD but downloaded the 21 day trial CloneDVD). It went smoothly and checked it out on my Sony DVD player. Thanks again. Works great.

I just made two copies of Spanglish. bbmayo - gets the credit. I tried several of my softwares that I had used in the past(clonedvd ,xcopy,1click. Updated the AnyDVD to the newest version of 4.6.3.1 and the newest version of CloneDVD2 2.7.5.1 and it worked like a charm. No Freeze up and a great copy.

I split movies using DVD Shrink. Its real easy to do..it scans the movie first...you reauthor the movie then right click on it and it asks you to devide it based on chapters. that is how i do it

I was able to copy it using decrypter and DVD Shrink, and it played fine on my PC. I have 2 stand alone dvd players a Panasonic which would freeze and pixelate. and Pioneer which played perfectly. i have never had any problems with the panasonic before. has anyone else that made a good copy of Spanglish tried playing on a stand alone Panasonic player? mine is model dvd-rv27. if anyone has the same model and is able to make a copy that plays on it then please let me know what you used to make it, thanx

@dreamps
If your looking for a way to get a 1:1 copy of a movie (putting it on 2 DVD5's) Then I have a guide at my website called "Create 1:1 copy using CloneDVD2" It allows you to keep the menus fully functional unlike doing it with Shrink. If you don't care about the menus then there is a guide at my site showing you exactly how to do it with Shrink also, but if you are getting the whole movie with no compression onto 2 disks anyway you may as well keep the menus.
