Hello,
Until about one week ago both of my ipods were able to sync songs from my itunes.(4.7.1.)(Windows XP Pro SP2).
It copied all songs over succesfully and one day it stopped. No major settings were changed since then. My ipods are 4th generation 20gb and 1st generation mini.. ipod mini 4gb green. Latest firmware on both. Its not the cables, i have 8 usb ports and 2 firewire ports and 2 firewire cables and 2usb cables. I tried all combinations. I called the apple tech desk and they after an hour conversation said it was a software issue and the do not support windows xp. I have tried musicmatch and winamp with the plugin but none of those worked. My ipods synced to my friends computer though. Both of them. same setup as mine, same itunes and same os with sp2.

So here is a list/overview of things i did

-tried all cables and ports
-tried restoring both ipods
-reinstalling itunes
-scanned computer for spyware and viruses w/adaware,spybot,norton antivirus 2005(all updated)
-scanned registry with Registry Mechanic and RegSupreme.(both updated)
-i checked all of my usb drivers and firewire drivers

actually something i didnt mention is that i tried syncing with xplay..it worked flawlessly. Then you may ask why do i still pursue an answer? Because i have 1030 songs all rated and with playcounts and i have many playlists that xplay will not sync. Even though xplay works I would like it to work with itunes as well.

I am adding that i have tried the winamp ipod plugin and musicmatch. Both claim that they finish syncing, but when i click play on ipod they skip through songs they were played, they dont make any sound and just contuine on to the next song.

--
Xplay however works as i already said.

--
And please don't suggest i use another program in substitute for itunes. I don't care how good it is i want itunes, no exceptions.

Please and Thank you!

hello again,
I have reformatted my computer and i know i have a different itunes problem. When i click add a folder it starts processing my 7 gb of music then it just stops as if it were done. But i have no tracks in my library. I also tried moving my .itl file into the folder to get all the songs functional. (.itl stores track/rating/playcount info)

Any ideas?

p.s. when i try to import my library.xml is says you do not have enough access priveliges for this operation.

Thanks in advance

lol mr taz banned me for not responding on irc.. o well

MrTazUK banned you for wasting time on IRC and not responding to questions that may help solve your problem. So I guess your stuck.

Like I said to you in the forums, we are all volunteers in there, and do not like our time wasted. Considering you were banned once already, I thought you may have learned.

Guess Not.

@ madman91

Do not bring outside squabbles into our forums. If you have a problem with someone or something then pm either the individual in question or a moderator.

I suggest dropping the IRC subject immediately and concentrating on the thread topic.
