don't buy an IPOD. Creative makes a great line of mp3 players that are MUCH better.

there are too many ipods out there as it is...for the sake if keeping competition to drive progress, get something else. Creative is a good way to go.

iPod is overated to be honest, all it really is to be honest is a harddrive. If you wanted to you could make an MP3 player with harddrive compatibility,so to be honest iPod is just a harddrive that lets you store music.

I had an Ipod Mini but returned it because you couldn't play .wma files on (audio books in my case) and the battery only lasted about 2 hours - lame!
I did some more research - then went out and got a Creative Zen Micro. It was $10 cheaper than the Mini, had 5gb instead of 4gb, the battery lasts a lot longer and it'll play my .wma's - and mp3's of course.
Go with the less popular and you'll be happier.

Well an iPod is a harddrive and an MP3 player only uses memory to store inormation, but you could build an MP3 player with like a 120Gig harddrive to store your music.I don't know it is kinda hard to explain to be honest.I have seen people make external harddrives for there MP3 players so they could take them wherever they want, only difference is you can't play music from the harddrive on the move like an iPod or similiar to it.Only on a computer or in your MP3 system.I don't know,I don't really use iPod or similiar portable systems that much.I am saving up to get this one system for my car made by JVC,so I can play Dvd discs full of MP3s ;).

Well I can't speak for all apple products but I love my 20 GB ipod. I fine with iTunes sice I get most of my music through other means anyway. Also (getting right to the point) The iPod is the most flexible play avaliable. Since there is a market that caters to people and there iPods you can turn it into your home media center, you can plug it (or not plug it) into you cars audio system to yous on the road. There also allot of stupid little navelty things you can do. No two mp3 players has that kind of third party support. Thats what you get with an iPod.

Thats not true at all, although it does cost $99 to replace the battery.
