if u live in Europe and have a PAL ps2 u won't be able to play NTSC games online. but u can change your PAL ps2 into a NTSC ps2 with the paradox machine id changer. and u have to patch your NTSC games with NTSC dnas codes. it is also possible to convert your PAL games into NTSC but as far as i know, you can't the other way around.

I'm sorry for postin here but i think it is interesting. If you have a better thread where to post this please let me know and I will edit this one (deleting)
WINNING ELEVEN 9
================
I was able to find this code on a spanish site:
Winning Eleven 9 Jap (NOVO)
ID: XX XX 05 20 3C
I tried it.
I make an ISO using my original copy of WE9, then using a program (WINDOP 1.7) I changed the DNAS and patched the game. Then I burned it.
[Telling the truth a applied even the Fernando Patch Final 5 (it translates jap to eng)]
Running the game all was fine.
I went on ONLINE, choose my ethernet connection and got this error during the DNAS autentication:
"DNAS ERROR (-833)"
I know that in Japan they play on their servers (paying) but I heard that a few people were able to play Winning Eleven 9 ONLINE here in Europe.
Any clue?
Before you ask me, I consider Winning Eleven 9 MUCH MORE BETTER than PES5 and I'd like to try playin it.
That's all.
Thanks.

Snowballo: as I understand it the region of your PS2 has to match the region of the game you are playing because sony know you must be using a chip etc to get around the regionalisation of games. The only ways to get round this are to buy a Jap PS2 to play Jap games or you can alter your machine ID with a utility to appear as a jap machine then change it back to play european games. This procedure is not with out risk to your PS2.
Can any one who has patched PES 5 tell me what they used, I tried windip 1.7 but it just tells me the image cannot be patched?

FTO: If you downloaded it, you more than likely have the beta version, which has no online play.

Hi guys. I have a question. I wanted to patch Tony Hawwks Am Wastelands with windip. I patched the iso file en burned the game with dvd decryptor. I selected the mds file instead of the iso file. When I tried it, the game could not go online. Did I have to patch both files (iso and mds) or only the one I select for burning (iso or mds)?
Thx
