@Mr.Burnz,

That log is not a completed log. You need to post the whole log to further the investigation and details.

Anyways, you need to update Nero to 6.6.016 (latest version).

That is an outdated/old firmware, the latest for you firmware is 1.17 - go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2140 and update the firmware, so it can recognize other media codes. Not only that but it'll have more compatibility with other media as well.

Perhaps, an update on the firmware like I said above will solve this.

What kind of blank media are you using? I didn't see any in the log, so is this just a simulation burn only?

Well, if that is the case, then you do not have the current firmware on your Pioneer dvd burner. I'm not accusing you or anything, but the latest firmware is 1.17, go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2140 and see it for yourself.

You should listen to Creaky, and he is right. In order for us to help you better, you need to provide one of your latest log, so it'll help us to determine what's the issue (or the possible factor) that generated your burning to fail.

My other suggestion is to try other high quality media such as genuine Taiyo Yuden (including both Fuji & Sony DVD+R "Made In Japan"), Verbatim (DVD+R), and Maxell "Made In Japan" to see if you'll get a different result.

@alkohol
i just saw the princo reference again, have been having trouble with some of those that someone sent me this week (brand new disks). am recopying onto decent media, once i can get past the CRC errors :)

anyway, thanks alkohol, i thought i was seeing things cus it was you who pointed out the firmware hadn't been done originally so i had to re-read the thread to check if it had in fact been done.

I have no problem with Princo myself, I CRC check all the discs I burn and have 100% success with them. The trouble is people burn them too fast. And I have never lost data on the discs either, that is total hogwash. If people think data disappears off their discs they obviously didn't check their discs to begin with.

@creaky,

You're welcome. Yep, it was I, who provided the link above for his firmware. However, it's strange and something is not right, but that's another story.

Princo huh..??? Honestly, I have never used them before bro, so I can't say it's good or bad. According to my understanding, they're definitely "not" on par with the famous Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden and Maxell. You've made the right choice by doing a re-backup on top notch media. Well, see you around.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

They are of course not on par with those brands of discs, but if you know how to burn them they are problem free and probaly the most reliable cheap media
