In my last post I slated the graphic equalizer but have since worked it out (you have to move the slider then select to activate the change in sound, school boy error!) This is annoying but the equalizer is quite good if you've the patience to set it up.
After over a week with the Zen Touch i'm still impressed. Been ripping a couple of my favourite songs at various compression rates (both CBR and VBR) and comparing them, even whacked them on the player as WAV's. Anything over 128kbps sounds very good but I have to say not as good as my old minidisc player. But then I can't get my 150+ album collect onto one mindisc! Not having had any experience with iPods i don't know how easy this sort of experiment would be with one of those players.
As for Flip's tag, a little bit of what you like is never a bad thing!

Its just as easy with the iPod. Plus the iPod has presets for evey type of ear!

I would go for Zen micro than ipod mini because I had enough of seeing ipods everywhere and getting old. Zen micro just looks so good; it has blue lights on the button and around. It has so many great features that ipod don?t have. FM tuner and the equalisers and the looks are just great thing, for me. Battery lasts longer than ipod too.
The bad thing that i sow is many people reported that the headphone jack got destroyed in their first few months. This was on amazon.co.uk review by customers (amazon now removed all the review by people now).
Did anyone else out there had this problem? Because I was going to get one

I thins i´m going to zen neeon instead of ipod nano cause the zen has line in recording and i think its an important feature. I can go to a party for example and record the dj set...waht do u guys think about that?

I would go for a minidisc player, there not the most common thing now, but i think the sound is great on them, and unlimited memory. I dont think i'll ever get an mp3 player can stand the sound on them

lol it isn't unlimited memory, you can only get 300 minutes on a MDLP. the sound is good, but i scrapped mine ages ago because nobody wants to carry a loada disks around, right? and the sound on most mp3 players is just as good if not better then MD players.

Well all the mp3 players that i've listen 2 are crapper than md. Doesnt bother me walkin around with disks and if u think about it u do have unlimited memory coz u can get discs

yes, but if you rip the audio at high quality, it will sound better. trust me, if you get one with 40+gig regardless of the model, and rip your audio at VBR (Variable bitrate) and shell out on a decent pair of headphones, that will smack any minidisk player anyday.
by the way, is it `disc` or `disk`????

I thought disk refers to hard disk drive and disc refers to a cd.
