help me evnflow kenobi, you're my only hope.........
i have NO idea how to join the split files dumped from fastloader. you seem to be THE man to ask so i'm hoping you could tell me how to this please. i've searched for ages and the closest i've gotten is this:
"Use a dos command window and the COPY command.
copy /b file1+file2 outputfile
Try copy /? for more info. You MUST use the "binary" /b switch or it'll stuff it up"
i have absolutely NO idea what this really means or how to do it in the command prompt thingy. all your other guides and how to's have successfully guided me thru back ups and using vcdromx so i'm praying you can help me here mate. thanks in advance.

hi
i read a lot now but it doesn't work ...
i've got the firmware 1.52 and fastloader v0.7
now everytime i want to start fastloader i get an error: The Game could not get started(80020148)
i hope someone can help me

you need v1.50 to make fastloader to work.
Anyway, what is a file joiner? Why don't UMDGEN and vcdromx work?

Hey guys,
new PSP owner here. I pretty much have eveything working on the PSP unit in terms of fastloader, however i have some questions that hopefully some one can help me with.
1. i treid to read the guid in this thread as to convert to iso, the prodlem is i dont see... ???(B) ( or anything that resembles that ), is it posible i have the wrong programe, can some one help me convert the files in a way other then what has posted previously, i have spnt almot 2 days sold now trying to get this to work....HELP?
2. i am a little confused as to excatly what "dump" means. Does this mean i can borrow a friends PSP game, dump it to my card, transfer it back to my computer, then transfer it back to the PSP at later time to be played without the actual disc, through fastloader?
if so, the is one powerful unit!!!
if someone could help it would be greatly appericated, as i a going mad tring to play some games that dont cost me 60 bucks.

Dump means to rip the actual UMD into an ISO. Fastloader will do it. Fastloader also plays the ISO that you rip.
However fastloader will ask you to insert ANY actual UMD, and you have to do it to let it loads the ISO.
In other word, you have to have at least 1 actual UMD for fastloader to load ISO.

No, they won't rip you off...I've been using it for a year now....they're worth every penny...can't tell you how many psp games, xbox games, music, pc apps I've downloaded w/ their help :)
Plus, it's only $.50 a week....by far the best usenet indexing service out there.

that is really cool, so i can rent a game and have it for ever?
can someone send me the file to convert iso's ill give my email or something?
i am when i download a game it comes in a rar form then i use WinRAR (or what ever) to open it the i see "PSP_GAME", and "UMD_DATA.BIN", no this is where i get lost i need to know how to convert the files, however the instructions that i read on this thread said something about "look for ???(B)" or something like that, however my version, "VCDROM EXTENSION 3.80", does not have these commands. can you help?

@abe84...you can play movies with 1.50...have tons of them(that i converted from dvd to psp)..if anyone needs a tutorial i'll post one...
@adamcrite...when you see the psp_game folder and the umd_data.bin file you have extracted too far(however if you are looking at it with WinRAR, don't worry, just don't extract it anymore and use that file(it's an ISO file) in the ISO folder on your psp)...
@fahadkhan...
Once you have downloaded and extracted to your Desktop.....double click on the hookboot folder and you will see two folders...copy the "Hookboot" and "Hookboot%" folders and paste them into YOUR PSP\GAME directory(double click on YOUR PSP folder and then double click on YOUR Game folder)...now back out to the Root Directory(the one with the PSP folder on it) and if you don't already have an ISO folder in this directory, make a new folder and name it "ISO"...now take the iso image file you have from your backup of YOUR game and place the ISO image file(the dvd icon looking file) to the "ISO" folder that you placed on your PSP directory...now that you're done with that back out of USB mode and go to your memory card stick icon(the one under the umd icon) and look for the hookboot(i think it's a umd looking icon) icon...press x...and it should bring up a black background up...select the iso...now press O..

Hey I'm thinking about investing in a psp, and a gig memory stick, but I want to make sure that I'll be able to work with homebrews and iso's. Is there any rhyme or reason to what firmware you receive when you get a psp, ie:
buying a new psp now will give me a firmware later than 1.5
or if you buy from the US or Canada or UK it will be different ?? Have I just waited to long, and I'll have to wait longer for a new loader software to be developed for 2.0?
Or do all psp's start out as 1.5, and you just have to avoid the internet and updating the firmware? I also got it in my head that some games will automatically upgrade your firmware like GTA:LCS, am I crazy??
Any help would be great, I'll probably still end up gettin one, but I may hold off on the memory.

evnflow...i did all that i even got devhook V0.22 running. But after I run Need for speed... the title menu shows up showing the loading bars. It freezes right there. What do u think. Is it a problem with the ISO ?? Plz advice. I am using Need_For_Speed_Underground_Rivals_USA_PSP-DEV2.iso

evnflow... i had the same problem with an other MP4 file that wouldn't show up on my psp after i had put it on my MS. but then i changed its file name into the name of an other MP4 file that did work on my psp. that did the trick and i am know able to see the movie. But when i tried it with my mp4 file of sin city my psp shows an icon which states: 'incompatible data'. Any suggestions?...

Just in need of alittle help. I have fastloader v. 0.7 I downloaded coded arms.ISO But when I unzip it all it has is all it has is PSP_GAME.
I don't know what you guys mean by the ISO image. Can some one please help me and give me some respones.

hi people,
just like the person above, i need a little bit of help too.
hopefully it wont be too troublesome.
i have a PSP with firmware v1.5
and ive downloaded a nba06.iso file
im just not sure how to correctly put the file onto the PSP and play the game without inserting an UMD onto the PSP, as i've bought a DVD with PSP games in them and i can just extract those exe.files onto the PSP and play them straight away from my memory stick.
i've loaded another game (for example virtua tennis) onto my PSP.
i turn on my PSP, go to game options, into memory stick, and i see an option to open DEVHOOK_V020 (Device Hook Ver.0.20).
i open the DEVHOOK_V020, and i have the option to load both virtua tennis.iso (which i extracted from my DVD) or nba06.iso (which i simply copied and paste onto the ISO folder at the root directory of my memory stick)
i could open the nba06.iso, it loads for a few seconds and the PSP crashes and switches itself off.
im just wondering if i can actually add an iso game file like i have done, and wanted to know if theres anyway to stop the nba06.iso from crashing itself.
note- i can play the virtua tennis.iso perfectly fine, but thats maybe because i extracted it from the dvd that i have bought, instead of the nba06.iso file which i have downloaded from the net.
