evnflow, hey, um im having trouble with this game called guilty gear, the psp version. ive downloaded many differnt versions of the iso and what not, but nevertheless i still end up having difficulty. it just so happens that the iso's i downloaded were the psp version for japanese games, but does it matter? considering im playing gundam, the japanese version, for my north american psp.i can get the initial guilty gear game starting, but thats as much as i can do. like whenever i choose the combatants and get prepared to fight, as soon as i click ok, the psp just shuts down! and i never get to see the slightest bit of action. can you please help me out, thank you for our time

hey i just wanna ask does fastloader and devhook speed up the cppu 4 everything? i have a version 2.5 unfortunately :-( but i wanna know if fastloader would still work and if it would speed up the web browser. thanx

Hey i have a question i used the new umd dumper v.02 to extract the full madden iso to my psp 2g memory disk. I then attempted to open it with umd emulator 8c to no avail. I keep getting errors that it cant find the game or it wont play. Am i missing a step? Please let me know. Thank you so much
Do i need to use VcdromX even thought i have extracted the whole iso. Please let me know. =(

Hi, I have followed the below steps for 10 overtimes:
you will need a program called "VcdromX"...you can google it or you can get it from the link in my sig....you WILL need this program...download it and once you extract it...look for an icon called "VcdromX"...(I'm going to use Fifa as an example in this guide) open this file up and a window will pop up on the screen type in "C:\Fifa" and make sure that the "FCD" button is checked...now click the left "??" on the bottom..now go to the folder where you have the "PSP_GAME" and "UMD_DATA.BIN" files\folders and DRAG them over to the right side of the "VcdromX" window...once this is done go to the top left corner and look for a box marked "??F", click on this and then go down to where it says "????(B)" click on this..a window will pop up click "OK"...this will start to convert this file to an ".FCD" file...now once this is done go back to the top left corner and to the "??F" box..this time go down to where it says "??????C"..this will bring up another pop up window click on the folder icon on the top box and go to the C:\ and look for the file labeled "Fifa.FCD"...now click open or double click on that file and it will put that name in the pop up window that showed up...now click on the top right box ( next to the folder looking icon) labeled "??" and it will start to create an iso image file for you...you will have to close this window out because it will stay stuck on 100% once finished..but once it reaches 100% it is ok to close it...
Conclusion: I have converted the FCD file to ISO file for over 10 times but what i get in the end is a WinRAR file instead of ISO file

Urmm far as i can see from other replies if you have a WinRAR icon for this then it could well be a an ISO still. if you right click and goto properties it will tell you if its a an ISO file. WinRAR recognises iso files and attaches itself to open these. Hope im right in what ive said.

Right my question, i read these posts over and over again. i managed to get hold of some iso files but they are more than 1Gb. At the moment i have only a 1Gb mem stick. ive tried YA Iso Shrinker to reduce the iso but when trying to play the reduced iso from UMD Emulator V.08c it wont load. the screen goes black and shuts of the psp.
So i tried fastloader v.07 but same answer.
Anyhelp/solutions to reduce the iso would be great thanks in advance.

I have tried puuting the RAR file in the ISO folder in the boot directory and than use the fastloader on the PSP and I chose the ISO that I have put in. the psp prompts me to insert any UMD disc, i insert it in and than it says initialising and it just stays on the fastloader screen and never plays the games.
I have converted the .FCD file to ISO using VcdromX upteem times and still could not get the .ISO file
PLS HELP ME.....i still could not get the VcdromX to convert the .FCD file to ISO. Everytime it converts the file becomes RAR file (book like icon) instead......

@zard_01 - If you have v1.50, go INTO and OPEN 1.5 and it should have 2 folders, XXXXXX and XXXXXXX% or something (where XXXXX is the EBOOT folder) you put XXXXXX and XXXXXXX% in your PSP GAME FOLDER.
@hollowtip - The difference between JAP/USA/EUR versions matter for different savegames don't work on each other, but, ALL PSPs have no region lock, so other than the save, and language, not much difference.
If Giulty Gear doesn't work, try a different download, not EUR/JAP/USA ver. It may be the person who ripped it scr3w3d up.
@shaman90 - WAB/MPH Loader, UMD Emulator and some others CAN overclock the CPU from 266MHx to 333MHz but only on 1.5. Wont work on 2.5. The official browser is on 2.00, 2.01 and 2.50, so you cant speed it up. The slowness of the browser is due to a slow connection, and NOT the CPU. Get a faster connection or something. Nothin to do with the CPU speed.
@CORRUPT27 - The ISO dumpers , most of em, usually dump to the MEMORY STICK ROOT DIRECTORY (ms0:\here.ISO) and your loader NEEDS IT SUMWHERE ELSE.
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

@snowygal - d00d, the RAR is NOT AN ISO!!!!!!!!!!
IT IS AN ARCHIVE, LIKE ZIP, ACE and 7Z FILES!!!!
EXTRACT it with WinRAR or WinAce or somethin.
Then, INSIDEm you will find an ISO file.
BOOTERS will only accept ISO files, NON RAR. READ the readme. ISO. The folder. it says ISOS.
Put t3h ISO in your folder. I'll eat napster_69@hotmail.com's BRAIN if you DON'T DO AS THE README SAYS AND PUT IN AN ISO.
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

libenja, you dont get wat i mean.
I have already extracted the RAR file and I get the PSP_GAME (folder) and the UMD_DATA (Bin File). I use VcdromX to convert the PSP_GAME (folder) and the UMD_DATA to FCD file and than covert the FCD File to ISO file(which I did not get the ISO file and instead I get the RAR file)
I have dine the above for more than 10 times and i still could not get the ISO file.
I have done the above for Winning Eleven and Puzzle Bubble game
SOMEONE PLS PLS I REALLY NEED HELPPPPP!!!!!

i put those 2 files in the game folder, and when i turn on my PSP and go into the memory stick folder, all i got was 1 corrupted data file, and another filed called Wab launcher 2.5
i go into Wab 2.5 but all i got was a screen with several writings and i couldnt figure out what to do next.

Hey, I'm new to this forum and just have a couple questions. I'm considering getting a PSP but am worried that I wont be able to use any ISO backup files if I have the 2.5 version software on the PSP. Is there new software that will work with the 2.5 software? I have looked at some of the posting but am I little confused. It looks like there are several different emulators, which one is the best. Any help you could give me would be great. Thank!

@snowygal...hello and welcome...ok you are doing too many steps...when you got that file how big is it?...and also VcdromX's icon is a RAR icon(but it's not a rar file...it's been converted to iso...but it uses rar icon's for it's symbol)...for an easier solution..i suggest that you use UMDGEN...you can google it or grab it from the link in my sig...it's easier to use...
@ravingmad...you can google for YA UMD ISO Shrinker or grab it from the link in my sig...you can also use UMDRIPPER(it is an automatic ripkit..meaning it will rip out music, videos, dummy files*you get to pick what files are ripped*...basically making the game extremely small)
@ryan0770...sorry man...as of right now, no there isn't anything that can downgrade the 2.5...i would suggest returning it to where you bought it and telling them that it freezes sometimes..and see if they will exchange it for a new one..you may get a 2.0 version(i'll leave you some more info later)
@zard01...you have the wrong program...that is a launching program(old skool)...you need WAB VERSION CHANGER or SXT VERSION CHANGER you can google for them, or grab them from the link in my sig...install just as you did for the launcher...
@Corrupt27...are you putting the ISO in the ISO folder(this folder should be located next to the PSP folder on your psp...if there isn't a folder there...just make a new folder and name it "ISO")

@evnflow.......so if I get the 2.0 version then what do I need to do? Do I need to downgrade it to V1.5? How do I do that? What program is the best for playing ISO? If I downgrade to V1.5 can I still use my PSP web browser?

Hey, I have been reading PSP stuff online all day and am a little confused to say the least. I found out that the Gigapack PSP comes with firmware v2.0. From what I can tell this is a good thing as far as cracks go? I already read on a couple sites that there is a crack for v2.0 and you dont need to downgrade? Is this true? I'm interested in playing ISO games from backups and homebrew games. What do I need to do to do this if I have v2.0? Is there already I guide somewhere that I Have not found? Thanks!

yeah i put the iso in the iso folder but i get an error message game could not be started. I know im doing it right because wipeout works perfect. But for some reason madden does not. Was anyone able to get a full dump of madden to work. Do i have to remove stuff. Please help!
Please remeber my steps.
1. put in umd madden
2. go to umdripper
3. compy the iso to the iso folder
4. start umdloader 8c.
5. I have tried all methods and all i get is error messages.
if i use the menu option and emove the madden umd and put a different umd the madden big screen shows. But the game wont load.
I wonder if i have to redo the iso?

@ryan0770...ok as of right now the 2.0 firmware can only play a few "Homebrew" programs(mainly GBA system, NES system, and the Genesis System...and a few others)..it can't play any ISO's(although i wish it could)...if you want to play ISO's i would suggest that you downgrade from the 2.0 to the 1.50 firmware, once you can get a psp with the 2.0, 1.52, 1.51, or 1.50 firmware...let me know and i will help you further...
@Corrutp27...sorry your ISO isn't working..what's your firmware again? and exactly where do you have your ISO, UMDEMULATOR(maybe called FASTLOADER) folders, UMDEMULATOR%(maybe called FASTLOADER%) at?

Thanks for your suggestions, i have shrunk the iso using both suggestions so that it will fit on the 1Gb mem stick.
when loadin the iso's it freezes after selecting the game in either the loaders i.e fastloader and umd emulator. when using UMD ripper how can u identify the correct files to pull out so to speak?
looking under the movies there can be a large amount, likewise for YA ISO Shrinker.
Could it be the loaders? or just me pulling out too many files.lol
what adavantages has hookboot/devhook have over fastloader/umdemulator

hi people im a beginer on psp's and ive got firmwire 2.0 ive got loads of psp games on my pc, ive unzipped them and ive got loads of folders with more files in them like pic0,icon0,pic1 and folders called SYSDIR and USRDIR and ive also got one file called PARAM.SFO, this is all in the PSP_Game folder on my computer how can i play them on my psp.
P.S. im cinda crap at this type of stuff so i may need a in depth tutorial.
