ITS NOT ON THE SLYSOFT SERVER
ANYDVD 5.5.1.1, 2005 10 27
- New: Added functionality to remove invalid VOBUs from a
title set to the option to remove "Protection based on
unreadable Sectors". This fixes the error message "Out
of memory" from DVDShrink with some DVDs, which suffer
from a certain mastering error.
- Fix: The option to remove "Protection based on unreadable
Sectors" could cause DVDShrink to abort with an "invalid
Navigation structure" error with some DVDs, which suffer
from a certain mastering error.
- Fix: Setup program did not delete obsolete RegCheck.exe
file from previous installations
- Fix: Undesired high CPU use for several minutes when
checking for program update via internet connection

Conclusion:
1.) AnyDVD 5.4.4.1 and CloneDVD 2.8.5.1 can copy Bewitched R1 Widescreen, as SamuriHL has proven. If you get errors with these versions (for heaven's sake, enable the damn update check!), your disc is defective.
2.) There are no two different versions (protected & unprotected), it was a user error.
3.) Bewitched suffers from similar mastering errors as Closer R2 (UK). I couldn't try myself, but I assume DVDShrink will fail when used with AnyDVD 5.4.4.1. AnyDVD 5.5.1.1 should fix this problem: http://sandbox.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD5511.exe __________________

Is 5.5.1.1 a beta version? Why is it not listed on the regular Slysoft download page?

a tip..as this guy (ripit)posted this, this is exactly what i do,except i do not use xp,i use windows 2000 with sp-4.which is i feel is much better then xp using dvd back up programs.since 2002
per ripit
I also have a computer that is not conected to the internet that I transfer files to via flash drive. My purposes though, are no antivirus, firewall, spyware programs etc. sucking up all my resources. It is my fastest computer and I really don't want to give up speed to a bunch of resource hog security programs.

so Ireland .. whay do you say that W2K is better than XP for DVD back up programs? I have a PC that I'm runnung W2K Pro, one that I run XP sp1 and 1 that is an antique running W98 (mostly for the grandkids). I have them networked in my house (kinda like my own intranet) I can get on the 'net with any of the three, but my firewall is not a program but rather a hardware firewall which I really like. I just make sure that I turn off my anti virus proggy beforehand and away I go. The PCs with XP and W2K are identical except for the OS and I really like the XP versiom more.
I'm interested in why you like the W2K more. Do you have a machine with XP also?
And yes, I'm a big fan of AnyDVD and Clone. I also use DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero 6.6.0.16 and last and probably least ... ICOPYDVDs2 (which surprisingly, has a good shrink proggy and a VSO burning engine)
Cheers ...

I'll wait till Slysoft has it on their site. I'll get an update email since I own it. Besides, Bewitched gave Me no problems whatsoever. AnyDVD + CloneDVD 2 = Success!

Hi ireland,
I see no problem in posting advanced releases of AnyDVD, CloneDVD software here. The source was clear from your post. I believe that this has been done here many times before. I for one appreciate the 'heads up', those who wish to wait until the offical Slysoft download page is updated can do so. In the past these early releases have almost always been released offically with no change in a few days. Having them early will probably help some who ar having problems with recent releases. These updates are usually done because of some new/modified type of protection.
best regards

This was an update posted by the slysoft team at cdfreaks, where they usually post them when people are having problems so they can get them out fast and people will be able to test and make sure the update works before they officially release it. I have been getting these updates from them for sometime with no problems.

ireland, personally, I was in No way saying your 5.5.1.1 link wasn't legit. All I was saying is that my 5.4.4.1 has successfully backed up Bewitched, and I've found no issues with any other movie, so, I can wait till Slysoft posts an update! Thanks ireland! it very well could have been a "lifesaver"! Again, Thanks for the heads up ireland!

I hate people who change the subject in mid discussion, but this looks like a fairly safe place in the conversation to ask..
I have been using AnyDVD for a long time, but one of the options (Safe Mode) under the [Program Tab] has me confused. It doesn't seem to do anything. Will someone in the know tell me what it's for and how it works; PLEASE!!

Interesting thing about never reading instructions - every now and then I miss things; not often, but occasionally...
The option to "Right Click" for more info never occurred to me. Now I know. Turns out that "Safe Mode" doesn't do anything in Windows XP [which is what I observed] so it doesn't really change anything, but it's nice to know WHY it doesn't do anything.. (Large Grin)
Thanks, Ireland!

If you receive the Email that says that AnyDVD has been updated, do you just have to click the download link at afterdawn.com to install the updates? Or is there more to it?
