I am using Azureus 2.3.0.4 and am thinking of changing because of the high CPU Az is using .I was wondering if someone is able to tell me ,does BC reload your torrents when you restart it so that you can continue seeding them ?I dont want to change to something that clears my torrents after i shut it down as i have allready encounterd this before when i first started out on torrents a few months back and ended up with a deleted acc because of bad ratio and now i have a very good overall ratio and dont want to loose it .
Any help would be welcome.
Thnx :-)

yes i know that Az does not clear your torrents until you do it yourself ,.I have started using Bitcomet and it seems ok but i am finding that i do not get as many connections as i did with Az ,,and yes i am connectable ,,as long as my ratio keeps getting better i will continue using Bitcomet but overall i feel that Az is a better client than Bitcomet ,,,its just the CPU that Az uses ,so i will go the comet way for a while,,
thanks for your informative reply :-)

Well if you want a lesser cpu usage, then bitcomet is probably the way to go. Just to note, from personal experience, I have found I get slightly fewer connections and slower speeds on bitcomet (which is what I started with), Whereas Azureus (for me) runs more efficiently and the downloads/uploads are smooth and quick.
You are correct though, it uses up the cpu too much for a bittorrent client. you may want to try this new BT client. 700 or so kb in size and it's the easiest on your RAM out of all the BT clients.
It's called utorrent. This is what it says on the homepage
Quote: ”Torrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients.
With BitTorrent, you can download files faster and contribute by sharing files and bandwidth.
Check here for more nfo and download etc...

Nice little client, However it takes up bandwidth by just running it and not even loading in a torrent!!!!
What's up with that!
My, first thought was who or what was benefitting from that, because it certainly wasn't me!!

Are you referring to utorrent, Weycraze? It is the least-bandwidth-consuming of all the clients...

Yes, I am referring to uTorrent.
I'm in the habit of monitoring any new softwares running processes.
With this one the CPU usage is negligible, HOWEVER, When I run the app my upload and download bandwidth start recording usage...I haven't even put a torrent file into it yet!!
Freaky eh?
So, what I wonder is this...what kind of communication is really going on with little torrent client?
I also noticed this same type of behaviour with another app called Shareaza, which I g-filed right off the bat.
Just my two cents anyways.
Peace,

Blimey, that's useful stuff to take not of, weycraze. uTorrent is a very attractive prospect to a lot of people, especially those who need the space for other things. Makes you wonder...smell a hint of RIAA?
Anyhow, good call

When i first started using torrents i was using Shareaza which i will refer to as Leechaza ,,oh it great for fast download speeds but you can not seed so really i think that if anybody is or thinking of using Shareaza for torrents ,,,think again.
I am using Bitcomet right now but i seem to loose my conections sometimes when i am just seeding and my upload suffers .
I have got SP2 and was wondering about this patch that i have read about ,,would that help with my connections ?,otherwise i think that BitComet is a very easy prog to use and would recomend it to my mother .I always read in different forums that everybody wants there download speed faster ,,,the need for speed !!!.
As long as i get my download at a reasonable speed and i am able to seed it forever i am happy ,,oh by the way i try to get my ratio as high as i can on every torrent i download ,,i am seeding 3 at the moment and all of them are above 3.X.
Great forum that you have got here ,,i think i will try and participate more ,is there and smileys here ?
ok gotta go and water my seeds ,,lol
thanks all
bye now
