All your doing is rebuilding the game and changing the system file
GET Apache 2
GET CDdvdgen 1.20
DVD Decrypter
That's all you need
1.Open decrypter to iso read to put the game iso on hard drive
2.open the game with apache point to the game on you left that looks like a CD image right click it and hit extract all to your desktop
when it's done with that go to your folder and open the system file with notepad and change it to
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SWBFRNT2.ELF;1
VER = 1.01
VMODE = NTSC
for pal users keep it pal save and go to the next step
3.When thats done open cddvdgen click new project then click dvd-rom master disc put the game files in the same order that apache had them go to volume and where it say Disc name you put for ex.(SLUS *****)
after that go to producer name put in PLAYSTATION and where it say Licence Area i pick america. Ater that go to file at the top on cddvdgen and click Export iml file it will ask you to save on your HDD you can put a short name of the game click save and that's it for cddvdgen close it
4. Go back to apache go to file on the top and click Import iml file then you should see on your right all the file of the game then go back to file and click build ISO and there you go wait for it to finish and burn it to a dvd-r 1x-4x on good media
HDD users
When you install the game using winhiip or like utility, It will show you the SLUS_ boot file. Replace that with SWBFRNT2.ELF. This game also needs to be run in mode 3.
that's all to it

Nice write up... I'll try that and give it a shot. I was waiting until I get some more media before I try again. I'll let you know how it works out for me. Think something like this could work for Path of Neo too? I'm still having problems with that game freezing on me.

Good post. Looks like it would work really well. Just how do I actually get the tools????
Apache 3
CDdvdGen
DVD Decrypter
I spent about an hour trying to find CDdvdGen (stop laughing, it's not funny). If someone could post a link or something, I would really appreciate it.
I have the backup copy of Battlegrounds 2 but I no longer have my original and I really need to get my fix.

Are you talking about Apache2 the web server thing? (I know that's a really stupid question, especially because I already have it)
I tried using iml2iso but when I try to build the iso I get an error that says it can't find the files (but the files are there)

Thanks for posting the link. I just burned a copy and it works! Wooooooooo!
Maybe someone should post a list of burning tools, descriptions and links for the noobs (it just might prevent a lot of stupid questions).

For anyone else that is having the problem with opening the system file with notepad... you don't open it directly, you open the program notepad from the start menu and then go to file, open.. then choose the system file in the folder where you put all the game files.

I just have to thank 2kwick because this method is the only one that got SW Battlefront 2 working for me. Game finally loaded last night. Although, I dont know if its my media or what, but after the first mission with the republic on that ice world, the game froze on the loading screen before it asks if you wanna save. Probably the media because I've been using cheap ones at work cuz I'm too lazy to go out and buy my own. Just updating. This method works.

Yeah, I normally use either Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden disks. I just ran out, so I've been using cheap ones at work. I cant convince my boss to buy good ones =(. I'll burn it again when I get my own media as I'm sure this method works fine for others.
This method should get pasted into any other SW Battlefront 2 posts as an end all/be all solution.

in what order do i drop the files into CDdvdgen? i used magic iso and it doesn't list files in the order they fall on the disc. They are listed in alphabetical order as:
CNF
DATA
IRX
LICENSE
NETGUI
NETIRX
LOADERA.ELF
SYSTEM
SLUS_212.40
SWBFRNT2.ELF
thanks

The system file has to be in the folder if you did it right and if you read the guide it say
put the game files in the same order that apache had them

that is my problem. i don't have apache or iso buster. i used magic iso.
i don't know the order they go in. i have rebuilt games before, but i restored my pc hard drive and don't have iso buster anymore,(which shows
files in order just as apache does). if someone can't tell me the order,
then is apache free? when i search for it, nothing comes up.
