I've just got a backup ISO of the original PAL game at the moment. Would it work using this method?
(If not, I'll have to get the original one more time-more hassle!) Cheers mates.

yep anthony05, i've made it. I've used your method and it works. Buy the way, do not burn the new ISO with Decrypter, because the back-up works will now freesing moments. After burning the new ISO with Nero (UDF), there is no problem with the back-up. Thanks again to everyone who helped me out.
bmcoach, I've read ISO/UDF should be used when burning, not UDF.

I'm not a Junior... it just looks that way. :)

socratez, when burning a ISO-file that's larger then 2 GB with ISO/UDF, Nero give a screen with the message that (translate from Dutch) the ISO-file is larger than 2 GB and that you need to use the UDF-system for burning such large files. When using the UDF-system you also get a screen with a message (to difficult to translate), buth just ignored it and click OK to burn the ISO-file. It's works on my sons PS-2. Try it out. Greetings.

I just have one question....... Is this process compatible with the PC Version of PON? I purchased the game the day it was released, and I would like to create a backup for it.

I followed the method up until the point where you need to enter the SLES/SLUS Number into the Volume portion of Cd/Dvd-Rom Generator... I did not have any files that matched the file that has the SLES/SLUS number....... I'm assuming that is because it is a PS2 thing. (I don't know anything about PS2 discs)... Anyway...... I skipped that method and read further into the thread here and noticed someone mentioned just using DVD-Decrypt to burn the disc, and I tried that....... it seemed to have worked and I was able to install the game off of the disc, but when i go to run it it gives me an error message that the original disc could not be found (or could not be authenticated or something like that?!)

Did i miss something? What can i do to make this work properly?

No its not possible with the PC version this is a PS2 DVD backup section of the forum.

Just make a straight copy of the game using Nero or any other burning wizard.

I've done that already. Nero doesn't even recognize the DVD disc as being valid & it pops the disk out saying it is blank. But if that is what you recommend, I will give it a shot!

Is there a thread somewhere devoted to the PC version where i could get some more information & some possible tips to make this work?

Thank you for your help!

Dude to backup MAtrix Path of Neo for PC, just use Nero and press create copy of a disc, and use matrix as the source.

Dude..... I did that 3 times already and it doesn't work. I get a copy of the game & i am able to install it on my other PC but when i try to run the game it gives me the error about disc authentication.

Basically my question was whether there is a way around this in the burning process itself or is there some kind of crack that i need to install that will make the disc un-necessary after installation?!

I keep hearing an echo...

Anyways, I don't know if this will help, try using AnyDVD before you insert the original PC disc. Just open up the program, it runs in the background.

Nice guide. I first tried to burn it without a guide and it couldnt get past de loading screen with the matrix signs falling down. Now i tried it after i did this guide and i said that it is not a valid ps2 disc. Then i tried the old one again, same error. Then tried all my games and with every game the error that it isnt a valid ps2 disc. All my games used to work after is put the dvd with matrix in it!
What now??!!

You heard the echo too? I thought I was just going mad.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried it, but it didn't work. I still get that "could not authenticate disc" error. It's rather annoying because the message stays up until you insert the original copy of the game.(Or restart the computer) Oh well.... I will just have to find a way to crack the game prior to installation. No big deal.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Because you need to put a crack in the game.... Search Up PAth of Neo Crack on P2P Program and download it and overwrite it in the directory of the installed path of neo file, only do this if you have the LEGAL original of the pc game and intend on not sctraching the pc game.

@Zapp05 - Check Your PS2, Try a orignial, if that doesnt work than you have something wrng with your ps2

How about try an original, and if that doesn't work, try cleaning your laser. I had to clean my V7's laser a couple days ago, it reads a lot better now.

After an hour or 2 it worked to play all my games again but still not path of neo. When i try the one used with this guide, i cant play all my games for about 2 hours. when i try the "original" one that hasnt been rebuilt it just stays stuck at the loading screen with the matrix sings.
There's really something wrong with this guide if after trying to play none of my games work...

Magic182, i've burned my new-ISO (that i created with anthony05's last method) with Nero DVD-ROM(UDF)(do not choose DVD (ISO) or DVD (UDF/ISO), because e message will appear that for files, larger then 2 GB, you need to use DVD-ROM (UDF)). Ignore the warning screen and burn it. Do not use Decryper to burn your new-ISO. I did this and the back-up freezes sometimes. After burning with Nero (UDF), my back-up plays perfect.

Just as an FYI, I did a straight read/write burn in DVD Decrypter with this game and it works just like the original. I used a Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R and burnt it at 4X.

@bmcoach-
I forgot to post this last night, after I did anthony05's method, I burned it straight with DVD Decrypter and it worked fine. I was so busy playing the game that I forgot to post my results.

I can confirm that using anthony05's method and burning with DVD Decrypter at 4x speed with verbatim dvd-r's worked fine for me.

thanx again guyz...

If you're using Swap Magic make sure you are using the right disc, the dvd version not the cd version

I did that yesterday and realized it was the wrong disc....scared da hell outta me

I tried 3dluis method and my files got smaller from 4.58 gigs to 3.72 gigs. The game worked using swapmagic 3.6

I then tried burning directly without rebuilding. Burned fine with dvd decryptor. Game worked too.

Maybe its just me, but I noticed that the game loaded faster without rebuilding. I did NOT play entire game. Just a few minutes play of the 'normal' version and not the 'easy' version. I just tested so i can familiarize myself with these programs. My next step is 'Fantastic 4'
