hi everyone.. i need some help to set up my sata drive jumper...
i have P4. 3.0Ghz. 1.5GB of ram. and a 80Gb (western Digital) SATA drive. i want to add another EIDE as the second (slave) drive. but when i set the second drive as slave and plug it in the first EIDE slot. The os window doesnot load. I don't know how to set the jumper on the Sata drive.cause it so differ from the EIDE drive. Can any1 show me how to set the jumper on the SATA drive..
Thanx in advance....

I didn't think you needed jumpers for SATA because the interface is its own channel, every one is master. Are you saying you want one SATA hard drive and one regular parallel connection (like your burners have)?

You should set the EIDE drive to be master not slave (unless your making it slave to another IDE drive)as there is no slave to a SATA drive. also set the boot sequence to boot from SATA rather than IDE.

yes i did put the EIDE drive as Master and How come i can't get into the setup page. i did press F2, it didnot response, but the F11 response it only show the boot sequence, but i can't change it permantly.i can only tell it to boot from Sata drive, yes it does boot up ok though but when i restart it, it still doesnot boot on its own. my Mobo is P4V88 asrock. THE problem is i can't get into the setup page to setup it permantly. any solution??. thanx

well the first possibility is that the F2 key on your keyboard doesnt work so try another kb.
also try and see if you can access the setup page when the drives arent plugged in as there could be a compatibility issue
hope this helps :P
