Limewire is probably the cleanest of all P2P tools, Limewire Pro is even better. As for getting virus/spyware its very rare, especially if its a popular file. Just keep up to date w/ virus/spyware protection and ur good to go! ;-D
No sig for u!.

Yes I do, I have LimeWire Pro and use it all the time, and I've also used other P2P programs and this is the best (right now). Just make sure and run virus/spyware scans (I do every night) ;-D

Do u not still have to pay for it that way?. Whats the point of having a smaller/weaker version, if the "pro" is free?. Just a question ;-D

Basically, you have to pay for it. But the point is, Limewire are hardly going to do you for piracy. ;)

I have a router. It is a Linksys wrt54g. I have a dell laptop that runs on windows xp service pack 2. I am currently using the firewall that comes with the windows (windows firewall).

I have a tip. Don't download .mov, .wmv's under 15MB, and any other crappy format, it could contain spam. Don't get mp3s that are 134KB, if you get one, you'll understand:). Be very cautious of names of specific files, they may give away whether they are clean or full of a virus or spam. Also, DON'T even attempt to install any software you download through it without checking it with a virus scanner. I almost got a virus from a pretty convincing looking "hacked" installer. Other than that, it's a pretty good program to get good files from, but I personally use Frostwire instead:
www.frostwire.com
Make sure any program you have for either proggy is able to go through a firewall or anything you have. You may also want to change the default port to something else not used (I suggest something in the 14000 range). Good luck!

When i search for songs, it shows the little realplayer icon. Should i change that?
Also, whenever i play a song (for example 50cent - outta control remix) the song plays really slow and skips and sounds really bad. Why is this? I had IE and AIM open while i was playing this song.

If you have Real Player as your default player, then it should, but if not, then that's weird. I would stay away from Real if I were you, but I haven't checked for Real files for anything that could be wrong with them. As for the skipping or bad-sounding files, it could just be the file itself, even though the first file downloaded has the most peers getting it doesn't make it the best choice. Try to go for files over 128kbps at the least, 192 is more desireable.
I would also get rid of IE and AIM too, they have too many pop-ups. Try using Mozilla's Firefox:
http://www.filepedia.com/network_software/web_browsers/firefox.cfm
and another IM client like Trillian:
http://www.download.com/Trillian/3000-2150_4-10367846.html?tag=ls...
You can instantly import your settings from IE to Firefox, and you can set up multiple IM services with Trillian; Yahoo!, MSN, AIM and even set up an IRC on it.

It should automatically upload it if you haven't changed any settings in Limewire. Go to options, then change any wanted changes for uploads.

Well, if you want them to go faster (something like 20kB/s), you should check if you set the optimizations for your connection above "Modem". Under the options, go to Speed, then set the speed to Cable/DSL. Go back to Uploads>Basic, then change the speed to something like 20kB/s if that's what you want.

Dont set ur u/l or d/l to max. U should set them to what ur connection allows u, for optimal speeds.
