Well if FFXII is DVD-9, don't fret. As insanely popular as the series is, there will be ripkits, downsizing tools from Sonix, and DVD-9 to DVD-5 guides for it right away. Now I can't garuntee what will end up being taken out in the DVD-5 version, most likely movies and extras. If you're too lazy to bother with that, simply wait for a DVD-5 rip to be uploaded via BitTorrent. Has anyone ever downloaded God of War? All you can find for that game is the DVD-5 rip. I couldn't even find an active torrent for the NTSC DVD-9 version. Truthfully I'm looking more forward to Grandia 3 and Tales of Legendia than FFXII. I'll acquire a copy of course, but I cant wait for Tales of Legendia to come out. Eleven days now til the U.S. release. Cheers!

The Tales series is sweet. Tales of Phantasia was one of the best games never to be released in the U.S. It was around 5MB's, huge for SNES, one of the biggest SNES games ever. It was translated by Dejap fortunately. The PSX version was never released over here either, and unfortunately was never translated. :) It combines 2D fighting with an RPG battle system. It's a little hard to describe if you haven't play any of the Tales games. I love the battle systems in the series. The Tales games are difficult and unforgiving with the random fights, similar to the DQ series. Cheers!

when does ff12 come out?

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Ah ha! So its that kind of game: walk a couple of inches -> battle -> another couple of inches -> battle. Very much like Dragon quest then. lol. (My kind of game!) :)

Mudaeries Advent children is one of the best. No in fact the best film (cg if you wanna get technical lol) I have seen in a long while, have you considered d/l the english sub version to be honest it doesn't spoil the film because 99/100 is all action! :)

Think it's around end of Feb beginning of March, (while yet) for FFxii but could be wrong.

Yes I agree. I like loads of random battles. Thank God for the Holy Protection spell, the fights get very tiresome after exploring the entire world.

I just beat Dhoulmagus in the Dark Ruins in DQVIII. The enemies were tough, not able to kill my guys because I'm over leveled, but I actually had to spend some MP to heal at times. He was terribly difficult *cough cough*. I'd have to say I'm 2/3 thru the game. The rest of the game is easy to predict. The Hero is a descendant of the seven sages, Rhapthorne is revived, you get airship, travel to demon world, destroy Rhapthorne, Princess Medea and King Trode return to normal, Hero and Medea get married, the end. There might be a bonus dungeoun with Estok in it, available after beating the game. These aren't spoiler's, because I have no idea what happens, but just a guess. DQ games are predictable. Cheers!

Ah ha but did you except what happened after you beat Doulmagus.....?
And you'll really wanna do the Baccarat side mission very entertaining.
Havn't got the holy protection spell yet is that the same as holy water?
PS might sound stupid but who's Estok? (This is first Dragon Quest game iv played as we've never really come across this game before in good ol' England! :)

Thanks for almost ruining the game for me Tokijin, i just started reading your post and decided to scroll down the page instead lol. Good thing i didnt read much of it cos i really didnt want any spoilers. Just started playing it yesterday, and got the crystal ball for Valentina. Hero and Yangus on LV.9, its a pretty good game. Its loading pretty fast from my HDD, so no problems there. It was already downsized to 3.89GB so im presuming all the dummy data had been removed. Paul1085, if Dirge of Cerberus is around 7GB when extracted, it'll probly be on a DVD9. Ive seen the special edition gift pack for the game, which is a boxed package containing the game, Gackt's single Redemption (which is pretty good, though im more an R'n'B kinda guy) and some other goodies. Anyway, if i find anything, i'll let you guys know.

P.S. I'm looking forward to whiling the hours away playing DQVIII rather than doing my homework...

Yeah DQVIII is fun. I'm glad you didn't tell me what happens Paul, I don't know, I know it involves Jessica, nothing more. I just saved it in Argonia right after I beat him. Sorry about the pseudo-spoilers. Estok is a bonus boss that often pops up in the Dragon Quest games. Often times he's in a hidden dungeon available after you beat the game. Typically he's the hardest enemy in the game, similiar to the Omega Weapons in the FF series. I'm still steamed about the exclusion of the Dark Aeons and Pennance from FFX US. Oh well I can always download FFX International and play it perfectly since I have a Matrix Infinity. I defininitely will at some point. So what games is everyone interested in acquiring in the near future?

Hehe Tokijin ive done it all which makes me the supreme champion muahahahhah!! lol i can't say it was no sweat though, it takes alot to beat Penance almost an hour i'd say if not more. Unless you use Yojimbo thatis, but he has two forms, so im not entirely sure how that would go. I Spent like 140 hours on that game doing everything i could. Kinda got boring in the end, so i went off to fight sin and watch what i thought was a fantastic Ending, like in most FF games. Isnt the international one in Japanese? With only English voice acting. Search for the PAL version and you wont go wrong "guv."

Okay "Gov" lol. I fast forward over King Trode's voice acting, his voice annoys me to no end. I spent around 115 hours doing it all in FFX-US, so I can relate. It'd have been a lot more if I had to fight the Dark Aeons and Pennance. I will probably "acquire" that game next, I'm downloading DMC 3 SE right now. That and of course Tales Legendia in nine days, woohoo. Yeah I remember the ending from FFX, it was excellent, a little sad, but it was pretty moving. Back then I used to drink, when I beat Sin, I was wasted after coming home from the bar. Glad I quit drinking lol.

U must have been pretty fucked when Tidus jumped then lol. Tales series, im probably a little younger than you, so i remember little about the golden era games. Though i have played a few, like FF4 (FF2 in U.S) FFV (just started it and thought it was a bit shit, so i left it.) FFVI (Again just started it, liked it, but acquired FFX-2 soon after, so i played that instead) I finished FF7,8, 9, 10 and 10-2. Ive played other series such as Grandia 1+2. Not much else really, but what else can i do in a 15 year life lol i'm going to try out as many new RPG's this year as possible (or as many as my wallet will allow.) Theres loads i wanna get, but i cant really be bothered mentioning em right now lol

Wanna try the Xenosaga Series for sure, 1 is supposed to great, but it didnt make it to the UK. I'll get 2 pretty soon, and then wait for the third one. Shadow Hearts looks good, and from the New World boasts pretty good visuals (or eye candy, really, most of the screenshots are FMV's) Grandia III's one to watch out for, and when Tales of Legendia comes out, i want to join the avid followers of the series to see what the fuss is about. I used to watch Gundam Wing, so MS Saga MAY be on my download list. Suikoden is supposed to a very good game series, and with Suikoden 5 being released in the U.S sometime soon (March 28 to be exact) i may start to take interest in this lineup too. I originally wanted to start at the beginning, but i think the best way is to probably to start at Suikoden 3 to take a current gen interest in the series. Metal Saga looks O.K, though i don't really know what its about. Digital Devil Saga looks good, and im playing through Nocturne at the moment which is confusingly dark fun! Havnt tried the .hack series, but have been told its fairly good. Of course theres FFXII later on in the year, and after i finish that i may go after Phantasy Star Universe. Dark Cloud 3 (if it ever come out) is a must get for me, as i thoroughly enjoyed Dark Cloud 1+2. Kingdom Hearts II is another must get, since the gameplay and story in KH1 was fantastic. Disgaea seems good, not into Strategy RPG's much though, same goes for Front Mission 5. Rogue Galaxy is great, i have the JAP version and im really looking forward to the U.S. version so that i can preorder it. Dirge of Cerberus and Code Age Commanders are both examples of non-rpgs by Square-Enix, the former being a Gun-Action RPG, and the Latter a pure action game. Thats it really, most of the games i wanna play in 06 that i know about. Its 23.45 here when im writing this and im fairly sleepy, so if theres any i've missed that are really important to you, feel free to add them to the forum. Peace, I'm Out! Thanx for readin!

Wow that's quite a number of games. I wasn't even aware of half of them. The Suikoden games aren't really linked, so starting at 3 wouldn't make much difference. In fact 2 and 3 are generally considered to be the best games in the series. The Kingdom Heart series is good, I just have a seething hatred for Disney. If I can get passed that, then it should be okay. I have Front Mission 4 and a ton of strategy RPG's, but they're not my favorite either. I play them once in awhile. Tactics Ogre was an excellent game I played through years ago. I played through a lot of Ogre Battle as well. To purists, Tactics Ogre was superior to FF Tactics in every way except for visuals. Quite honestly, what difference do visuals make in a Strategy RPG anyway? It's all about gameplay, strategy and the battle system. The Langrisser series is interesting, it reminds me a lot of the Shining Force series. Is Phantasy Star Universe an online game, or is it a stand alone game? I was really turned off by the Series' decision to focus on online play and forget the console players who made it what it was. I don't care for online games. I much prefer stand alone games. Cheers!

ok ive just ordered a copy of Dragon Quest VIII, dark cloud is a great game didnt think 2 was as good there is some srceen shot of 3 on gamespot looks good i started to play Suikoden 4 but the first thing a had to do was blow up a boat (i think it was that game if so didnt like it and wont be playing again)

the thing about online play is the constant upadates do my heading then you have to pay to play who thought of the idea they need a good slap god dont they think we pay enough for games already

Im not really one for online gaming either, however the Phantasy Star Universe has promised a 40 hour offline adventure too. There were a few last year, such as Magna Carta: Tears Of Blood, which supposedly had a fantastic story but was lacking in the gameplay department. Can't forget about Shining Force, it was one of the first games i played back in the day, along with Sonic. True Graphics dont really make much a difference in Strategy RPG's since its all essentially about the strategy. The Front Mission 5 graphics look pretty great tho. Im quite aware about the Suikoden series, and starting at any game wouldnt make much a difference. However like i said 3 seems to be the best place to start, being one of the best games in the series, and possesing graphics that may look a little aged, but not as much so as Suikoden 2, as it was a PSOne game. However Xenosaga is ongoing, and it would be wise for me to start at the beginning. The rates for online gaming tick me off, i mean who would really buy fake gil with proper money? lol

Advent Children was a badass movie, i didnt even eat that time cos my eyes were glued to my computer screen. It is mostly action, and im wondering when the version with English dubbing will be released. I want to see how well the voice actors fare compared to the Japanese ones (which were brilliant in every respect, though my understanding of Japanese is limited) I wonder if they'll have Lance Bass again for Sephiroth... anyway, i downloaded it as soon as i heard it had been leaked. This was a time when there were only 2 seeders lol but now u'll find full DVD-ripped versions with hundreds of sources. Its pretty easy to find and download even off Limewire nowadays. Think about it...
