when i am using iTunes it only updates when you plug the iPod into the machine. if you leave it plugged in (for charging) and try to update it it comes up it the error 'the disc cannot be read from or written to' so then i have to wait about 3 minutes by disconnecting my iPod and reconnecting it. any ideas why?

-Connect your iPod Up.
-Go 'Edit'---->'Preferences' and then click on the 'iPod' tab
You will get this screen.
If you see, my opted folder is 'MY PICTURES' to sync photos from (Yours could be any folder). So whatever photos are in that folder will be synchronized to your iPod. If you add or delete images from this folder, the same thing will happen when you sync your iPod.
When you say 'new topic', what do you mean?

All I can think of, is both of you make seperate folders. then each time you connect, just change the folder over :-)
My ipod started doing weird stuff like that before it died yesterday. The weirdness started about 2 days before it went toes up. Make sure you have all your packaging if you can still exchange it (Christmas present).
