Im having problems myself with encoding but i've found some info that might help you out..

Visit the link below it basically explains about the video source when it has a seriously over estimated filesize and what to do about it.

It happened to me a good few times, but for some reason the error doesnt happen as much now..

I have problems when converting XviD format Avi's to dvd, errors occur all the time :(

Anyway enough of my own problems, hope this helps!

Go into the "Source Range" settings and set the start and end Points of your File then it will read the Length correctly....

Hello all, just found this forum while searching for an answer to this problem.

I have a number of AVI files I wish to put onto DVDs for a standalone player, I was advised to get TMPGEnc products to solve this, so far I can't get TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress to encode any file, I get the error message "There is no quoted number of character-string '%.2f'
There is nop information in the helpfile on error messages. I have installed the K-lite mega codec pack (Ver1.4.7.0) and still no further forward.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers

Well it sounds like your File might be Corrupted or have corrupted sectors in it.....

You might want to try a Different Encoder (MainConcept Encoder, or TMPGEnc Pluss might have better luck) but if you keep getting error messages then there is most likely something worng with the File in which case you could try running the File through a Video File Fixer like "Div-Fix" or "All Video Fixer".....
You could also run the File through "Virtual-Dub" and use it"s "Scan For Errors" feature and see what it finds....

Good luck
