Thats basically what i suggested :) its just i showed him the site above so that it could be explained a bit more.
It just happened to me actually lol! i've just reinstalled my machine :( ran TMPGEnc for the first time, gave out the stupid over exaggerated filesize problem. But now its workin okay :)
Ps, lets hope i dont get errors this time when i convert!
Hello all, just found this forum while searching for an answer to this problem.
I have a number of AVI files I wish to put onto DVDs for a standalone player, I was advised to get TMPGEnc products to solve this, so far I can't get TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress to encode any file, I get the error message "There is no quoted number of character-string '%.2f'
There is nop information in the helpfile on error messages. I have installed the K-lite mega codec pack (Ver1.4.7.0) and still no further forward.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Well it sounds like your File might be Corrupted or have corrupted sectors in it.....
You might want to try a Different Encoder (MainConcept Encoder, or TMPGEnc Pluss might have better luck) but if you keep getting error messages then there is most likely something worng with the File in which case you could try running the File through a Video File Fixer like "Div-Fix" or "All Video Fixer".....
You could also run the File through "Virtual-Dub" and use it"s "Scan For Errors" feature and see what it finds....
What should i do if the error check comes back negative and there arnt no errors? Im not too sure why the file cant just convert properly, one day my encoder works a treat the next it fails!
