I would get the noral video now, because that full screen iPod is most likely a fake, and if it is real then the reas date will probably be dealed 2 mounth and there will probly be a handfull of problems whith that iPod just like ever outher iPod that was put on the market! I would say get the iPod that is out now!
Love that case *dosent scratch the ipod*
On the FM Tran. I would get a monster! They are alot more powerfull, the downfall is that its not in a dock!
*Get the 2year sevice plan from apple it ahas saved me 3 times now!*

Good luck hope she likes it!

~ That doesn't make a lot of sense..
TRENCHER1 hi, welcome to the iPod forums.
The iSkin eVo3 is a very good choice, though I have tried many iPod cases, and any silicone case I have used has protected my iPod from marks & scratches. One thing to note -- whatever you purchase, be sure to get a screen protector aswell, otherwise your screen will get scratched very easily, and dirt/grit may get under your case, and subsequently scratch your iPod.
As for the FM Transmitter, I recommend the Griffin iTrip. It's a fantastic product (I own one), and produces crisp, & clear sound. It is also half the price of the one you mention. You can asses the product here..

Finally, I wouldn't worry about the 6th Generation iPod just yet, as nothing has been anounced/confirmed by Apple thus far. The pictures you see and blogs you read on the webpages are mainly speculation & rumours. The Fifth Generation iPod hasn't even been out for six months yet, so should still be considered 'new'. :-)
Good luck, and I hope she likes it. If you guys get stuck while using your iPod, this is the place to post ;-)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I had looked at monster and the iTrip. I liked the iTrip and have heard good things about it, but was leaning towards the TransPod because it cradled the iPod, so that it wouldn't be flopping around the car. What i'm really worried about is if the iPod will still fit in the TransPod with the iSkin on it. I don't want her to be stuck having to take it out of the case every time she wants to dock it in the car. Any thoughts?

From past experiences, I have to say that silicone cases & docking stations do not bode well together. I have never used this particular product, so I honestly couldn't tell you whether it will work sucessfully or not. But I would definetely suggest you request if you can test the fit before you purchase.

I know that that particular case is suspose to fit in cradels and docks!
Quote: The eVo3 even works with the
Apple Universal Dock. Now there?s
no need to take your iSkin off
to charge or dock your iPod? and that means 24/7 protection.

any ipod w/ any silicone case will fit into the universal dock if you take off the dock adapters ;-)

But we aren't referring to the Universal dock here.. we are talking about the TransPod in-car dock.

Whether it has adapters or not, the total width may not be wide enough to fit a 5g with an iSkin. I am not saying it wouldn't fit, I am saying I personally wouldn't purchase without a guarantee that it fits.

A silicone cover with a screen protector provides great protection for one's iPod. The rubber-feel also gives you a better grip of the unit which makes it harder for you to drop it.
When you unpackage the iPod upon purchase, it comes with a film protecting the entire front of the iPod. I recommend anyone who is planning to buy -- or has just bought -- an iPod, should keep this cover on, as it gives added protection to the front of your iPod.

There is one problem with leaving the film that comes with the iPod on is that after alot of use you click wheel 'may' start to stick! This dosent happen on all iPods but it dose happen on some! I recomend you take this film off and use a film that covers the whole iPod exept for the click wheel!
Heres a link to the one I use

Domreis, do you have any evidence/links to support that? I have had my iPod for nearly six months without experiencing nor hearing of any of the problems you mention.

Why wouldn't you want to cover the click wheel? it is just as susceptible to scratches & marks as the rest of the iPod -- and if it is protected, then it ensures that no dirt/grit will get under the cover and subsequently scratch the iPod.

You need some sort of proof of an issue before discouraging someone from doing something.

listen these 5Gs...as sexy as they are, they are VERY vulnerable to scratches. if get a grain a dirt in those silcone skins...it will scratch it to sh*t! I purchased a carbon case with a thin foam lining insidefrom ebay. what's also good is the wheel is exposed for easy acces, but the screen is cover with tough clear plastic. I couldn't find it in any of the box stores, so i had to order it online. Well worth the purchase. The only caution is plugging in my car adaptor monster cable...i had to gingerly shave a bit of the plastic molding from the adapter to make it fit. however the apple adapter fits fine with the case on. the oitem number i purchased from ebay is 5842557005
Feelflows!

i am very chuffed with my 30GB Video and i have been looking at accessories since i got in january with not enough money to buy them lol.
As far as i'm concerned about the radio receiver i would use the apple one that includes a remote, the only downside is you have to use version 1.1 and i beleive some people have been having problems with that version of firmware:
http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/6124041/wo/fm...
For the case i would reccommend the Belkin 'NeuElements' Leather flip case. This is my second case after upgrading from a silicon case. The downsides with silicone cases are so hard to remove, dont include screen protectors and can make you iPod scrach so easily.
This case is has a leather effect and has soft faux suede effect inside which will keep your iPod scratch free. When closed, because of its tough design it makes it almost impossible for you to accidentally crack the screen. It includes a plastic screen protector too which is built in. Another great point is that is it really easy to remove and has access for your dock connector and headphone jack. On the back it has a belt clip with cable control. You can simply wind your headphone wire round the belt clip. The downside is that the belt clip is unremoveable.
Universal and will work with 60GB and 30GB iPods. Also available in white. I will try to include a pic if i can
