Your burner did support PI/PO scanning Jurgen, so crossflashing wasn't necessary.
Tojikin, you said this in an earlier post, but in the taiyo yuden thread,i posted a cd/dvd speed scan,my very first pic, where the PI/PO wasn't mentioned.
how come it wasn't mentioned then, since i already had the latest firmware...

Okay my mistake. I must've misread one of your posts or something. Your burner obviously doesn't support PI/PO scanning in that pic.

That's what it is, I don't understand jitter completely myself. I imagine it shows just that, how much the disc was moving, if at all, during the burn process.

ok,just installed a new benq 1650 as master on the secondary channel, with 80 pin ide cable,i checked,
alone,since my hd is SATA.
and this is my first burn with mediocre media, right?
i know it's not a whole disc,but anyways,
this was burnt with default settings, wopc on,sb and overspeed off.
Now,i guess this is a nice scan,right?
I burnt it at 4x
Now,is it normal that, when i use imgburn, the buffer stays at 100% the whole time, but the device buffer stays around 85-90% and sometimes drops back to 20% for a split second?
the drive is running in udma mode 2

TDK isn't mediocre, it's just not as good as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. That is a nice scan. The main difference you'll notice with TY's or Verb's are fewer max and total PIF's, 462 is a little high. I just scanned a TY DVD+R that 1,762 total PIF's, but 95% of the time, the total is well below 200.

I don't use lens cleaners, I simply open her up and clean the laser with a Q tip and rubbing alcohol. I don't trust lens cleaners, I've read they can scratch your laser lens and make it worse. If you want to do that, here's some info.
74. Q. I turn on my PS2, the disc spins and makes a "clicking" sound. It says "disk read error" in my browser, what do I do?
A. This could be a sign your laser is dirty or scratched. Clean it with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol if you think it might be dirty, also be sure to check it for scratches. Fat PS2 v.1-11: http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Guides/ps2diy/ Consult the links listed earlier in this thread for info. This could also be a sign your game is dirty or scratched. You can clean it with rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth or tissue. Only apply a couple drops of rubbing alcohol on the disc, 4 or so evenly spaced. You may want to use an eye dropper for this. Rub it with a lint free cloth or tissue in a non circular pattern until it's dry. Your other option is to buff out the surface scratches with on the disc with a "Game Doctor." I came across a $20 Memorex cleaning device at Wal-Mart which basically does the same thing. It worked wonders for my scratched Breaker Pro disc. The Game Doctor will set you back around $40. If the scratches are too deep, this won't make any difference. If you get the "clicking" sound with a backup, all these same things apply. Also MAKE SURE that your not using cheap media. Again check the links posted earlier in this FAQ. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/240341

so i opened up the ps2,and cleaned the lens etc,and the inside,
it wasn't dirty at all, expect i noticed some greasy stuff around on these 2 metal bars that hold the lens... is that normal,i cleaned some off. BTW,the inside of my PAL silver ps2(50004) looks nothing like the pics on this forum and any other i've seen.
It's just, when i like play burnout revenge, the original, not a backup,is it normal that when i retry an event and then choose the car to drive it takes like 10 seconds to start the event, and you hear the disc spinning the whole time??

That is grease. You don't want to clean too much of it off, it lubricates the bars so the laser can move easily. I haven't played Burnout Revenge in awhile, I'll check on it and post back in a bit.

it's like in the world tour mode, the first events, there's this crash event,it's alone in the categories to choose, hope it's clear what i'm trying to say,so,you have to start and go right after a little while towards a ramp,to hit the target car,right... well,in that stage,is it normal that when i choose retry after a failed event,i can't skip the thing where they go backwards in the track in slow motion? and when i choose a car to race, the camera always spins around the car for like 10 seconds before staring the event.
Also,i noticed only one bar was greasy, what can i use that's in everyones household to grease the other one a little.
Hope you find the time to help me tojikin.

I had some real trouble burning at 4x, all my games were choppy and the loading times were dreadful (Godfather, Dragon Quest VIII & Gun).
I use Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD+R which I booktype to DVD-ROM so I knew it wasn't my media (burnt with Nero).
However, after experimenting a little I discovered that if I burned at 6x instead, then all the games run flawless !
Not saying it would solve your problems but it definitley worked for me.

Oh sorry Jurgen, I didn't notice you meant the original. My dog ate my original, so I don't think I can help you there. More than likely, it's just the load time for the game.
