I was wondering if this was possible:
to use the arrow pad (like on a PC) or a xbox controller able to be pluged into the bottom of a 5g ipod so that I could play gameboy games and mabey even xbox games through the controller and mabey even plug the ipod into my TV and play 1 player xbox!
so.... is it possible (with rockbox or ipodlinux)
mabey it could work like this:
get a double sided female USB port (the one that u plug stuff into on your PC ) and put it on the end of the ipod usb cable and then take a xbox usb controller on the other side and VWALA a xbox controller for xbox
any ideas because this weekend me and my dad are going to try it and it would be extremley nice to have some advice/pointers

i'm just wondering why you would want to hook up an xbox controller to a pc? i figure to play games. but why not just get a controller for the pc. it will cost about the same as some of these adapters

Anyroad. Unfortunately, I don't believe linux/rockbox or any alternative firmware that boots on the iPod will cater for the needs your require, and I have modded my iPod(s) using many different techniques. I wouldn't dismiss it, however.. it's definetely worth researching, it's just controller pad modding isn't really my field.

Yea...
And after your fingers get numb from playing 1 player xbox on your ipod all day you could donate the free cycles from the processor to distributed.net, because we all know that apple secretly packs those suckers full of low wattage, high throughput chips.
