Does anyone know why the Apple logo appears on the iPod Video and takes about 5 seconds to load when you don't use your iPod in 24 hours?

I think it is because after a period of inactivity it puts itself in "deep sleep mode" basically shutting it down like a CPU. :-)

Please check out my iPod forum. Create an account and we'd be more than happy to help you out with your iPod questions.

When your iPod isn't used for a certain amount of time it turns of even more so. Like your computer for example has a 'Sleep' mode, and a 'Hibernate' mode. When you first turn off your iPod it goes into Sleep mode, ready to go in a moments notice. After 24 hours or so it goes into an even deeper sleep to conserve battery, and then needs to reboot the firmware, much like your computer does.

Thanks guys for explaining it to me. I realised that the iPod Video will hold the battery charge and not drain like the previous generations.

-Theopod I meant that when an iPod Video 5th gen is inactive for 24 hours it takes about 5 seconds to turn on and the apple logo appears.
