I'm seeing about $60-$70 difference between them. It would mean your leftover card would be better suited for the new Vista, whatever you decide to do with it. But at about $92 US the card you're getting isn't too bad. ;)

It's the cheapest card I could find that would run my monitor (2560x1600 Dual Link) and wouldn't steal system RAM (turbocache / hypermemory).

You say that like the X1600PRO is crap. It's a decent mid level card and full capable of running most new games and Vista decently.

Estuansis: That's the irony, it really isn't that bad, and yet it's the cheapest card that suits me.
Tranquash: It's a decent processor, but unless you find it cheap, Core 2 Duos are looking better value.

SDRAM? We use DDR RAM at the very least nowadays. I assume the PC isn't for gaming? There are far better value graphics cards that don't cost much more than a 7300LE.

Yeah: 65nm (nanometres) is how wide each transistor is on the CPU.
As for supreme commander, yes I have, it RULES!

Unless you're in the US where they spell it nanometer. ;) Just to add to what Sammorris said, that is the process on which they build the processors. The new C2D is 65nm and the older stuff is 90. Intel just reached a milestone recently. They're producing over half of their CPUs on the 65nm process. The future is looking bright for a 45nm CPU.

I only suggested a X1600 Pro a while back as an inexpensive mid-range gpu and caught all kinds of grief. I won't do it again even though the one I had in my old system never caused any problems and was a good deal at the time. It was on sale for about $50 less than anything else equivalent to it.

Look on the web to see if there is a newer driver. There are some aftermarket drivers available but I can't remember what they are.

I'm not saying it's a driver problem. Something to look into. Gotta start somewhere. Info sheet with your card should tell you minimum requirements. You can probably find the nin requirements on the manufactures website.

It could be a driver issue, or you could have a dodgy PSU. For once that brand sounds OK to me, but there's no guarantee anyway. One of my sticks of Corsair RAM for my Core 2 Duo was faulty, and that's one of the best brands in the industry. So only 512MB of RAM for me for a few days, ugh that's painful!

The pentium D's by no means the fastest CPU on the market, but 99% of all issues aren't the CPU, it's usually the motherboard or memory.
