svtstang: edit on my last post, you dont need to run the Devhook Firmware Installer again :) Thanks for that
damoi020: i have only run Tomb Raider so far, but have had no probs with the sound or general gaming, it all works really well. Half way thru the game now and haven't had a glitch

I still dont understand the concept of dumping the firmware. All DH packages come with the flash needed for all fw versions except 2.6, so what is being accompished with the firmware dump? Call me a noob, but i still dont understand that aspect;) Azrael, do u have any understanding of this? If u do, can u explain it to me?

svtstang, i dont think you are actually "dumping" any firmware, its just emulating it and adding several hundred path clarifications to the programming strings so that when you run Devhook with the appropriate settings it will read from those paths and execute the emulated format of the firmware.

No, i followed Azrael's steps and the game runs fine. I have never used the firmware dumper and have 5 2.6 games that work fine. I dunno, it would be nice to know though....

Ok. I've got GTA LCS working with DevHook with multiplayer by using 222/111 speed. But now I'vew hit another wall. When I set up a multiplayer game qith my 2 PSPs (v2.01 and v1.50) the LAN indicator on them blinks almost constantly but they never pick each other up. What does it say on the compatibility page that for GTA LCS, in order to play multiplayer, you have to make a new connection? Does this refer to the network settings or something else? Also, has anyone actually played GTA LCS Multiplayer on a v1.50 using DevHook? If yes then please tell me what you did. Thanks.

damoi020: if you are talking about the firmware, press "o" then it will run a couple of files and you will have to press "o" again to exit. This will boot you back to your normal screen, then you have to run Devhook to do whatever you want :)

press "o", don't worry about exit with "x", it will prompt you again after you press "o" and it will come up with Press "o" to exit. Don't fear, press "o".
If you want to, check my previous post which details exactly what to do, i think on Page 3

Man, ppl really need to start reading b4 posting questions that have already been answered. For the third time, here it is:
I;m tired, found this quick, compliments of Crazyfool he was kind enough to post this in another thread a few days ago:)
With GTA, i opened a full untouched iso in WinRAR and extracted the contents. you'll find that the contents will only be about 850Mb (something to do with the padding of the ISO?).
This stage may not be necessary, but i did it to save room on my memory stick and because custom sountracks work with devhook. i ripped the update and all the radio stations using Lande's UMD Ripper 2.5 (from PSP-Hacks.com)
Then I just rebuilt the ISO using UMDGEN 3.01 (don't bother using Ciso, you'll find its really jerky even at 333). The ISO should be about 570Mb, just copy it to ms0:\ISO, and run devhook. I think you may have to use at least 0.41, i tried it on 0.40 originally and i got black screen. Use the following settings in devhook and it should work
UMD Select: Whatever you've called the ISO (e.g.GTA LCS.iso)
UMD Mount: ISO ANYUMD
Firmware: 2.50+2.00
Boot Select: Reboot XMB
UMD Version: 2.XX -> 2.00
CPU Clock: 333 MHz
If you run it at 222 its as jerky as a .cso of GTA at 333, but i've found it runs fine at 333 for .iso
That's what i did anyway, no prx swaps. I did dl the ISO though (slap wrists)
