Hi,

I have been trying to play this mkv file which has 2 audio streams, both are ogg Vorbis as indicated in VirtualDubMod. I am using Core Media player, but I am unable to see any subtitles. I try switching between the two subs streams and nothing occurs. I am able to switch between audio streams. Can anyone suggest a different player that will let me cycle through subs? I dont really care for the second audio and sub stream, so I tried to Demux every stream using MKVextractGUI, then just muxing the desired streams with MKVmerge GUI and I still cannot see the subs. I know of an annoying walk around, I can extract the all streams, convert the audio to mp3 so its compatible with AVI, mux them in VDM then name the resulting AVI file "video.avi" and the subs as "video.srt", this way I can play it. But this seems too long and complicated. Any suggestions?

Try Media Player Classic. Make sure that output is set to VMR7/9 renderless or Haali's renderer.

hey celtic_d

thanks for the suggestion. Although it won't allow me to switch between subtitle streams, the player is great. Maybe the mkv file is currupt in some way. I can see the subtitle streams in MKVinfo GUI. Here is what the tool tells me:

I can maybe, demux what i want and rebuild the mkv with only one subtitle and one audio stream. If I opt out for this route, is there any specific procedure to follow using MKVMerge GUI?
Thanks

* I forgot to mention that the Haali's Video Renderer is greyed out. I obtained playback with both VMR7/9 (renderless) but no subs. I do have the Matroska Pack installed, with Haali's Media Splitter. Maybe the subs dont use the splitter?
