New iPod updater released.....

Apple have just released a new updater, updater 2006-06-28. Features include Nike + iPod support for the Nano, vol. limitation for the shuffle aswell as the usual bug fixes.
The firmware version references are 1.1.2 for the video iPod, 1.2 for iPod nano, 1.1.4 for iPod shuffle.

Know where we could get a conversion program,for the theme's?? And if not, Do you go the link to the last one right before this one, I forget what it was but I think it was somthing -23 at the end. Not sure. But it's the 1.1.1 one, Lol can you help me, I need to get this Red Tribal on mine, I messed it up when I first did it just didnt care though, Like the only thing wrong with it was the background for the lock feature was not gray or flames, it was white, I don't care though, I know how to fix it once I get the old updater, 1.1.1, 0r somthing -23...Ight thanks, Peace....See if you can find someone with a conversion program that converts 1.0's,1.1's,1.1.1's in to 1.1.2's, Alright thankx for your time and considertaion. Nvm About the 2006-03-23 updater, I found it and it's downloading right now, anyways if you want the link or whatever or need it here it is boys/girls..Sorry if this is piracy(CHECK AND SEE IF IT IS FIRST MODS) like I said in another post in this forum I don't know what piracy is and I'm not sure like what is what isn't, I don't think this is. anyways....When you click on the link, just go to the bottom and click continue, Then.. Hey Lethal_B still see if you can find that conversion program(if there is such thing for..) the versions 1.0,1.1,1.1.1,1.1.2.....Thankx Peace,If not see if you can have some one make one, I want the latest stuff on my ipod and another theme..^ tribal like I said up there alright later.

I'm sure one will be developed very soon. But not yet, as the new updater has just been released.

I wonder how you can set the volume limiter on the Shuffle? Does anyone know when Apple will replace the Shuffle or discontinue it?

I updated to the new firmware and it seems to cure the video hangup sound loss problem.
At least it did for me.

Please help:( I just updated my ipod with the new ipod software and then disconnected my ipod from the computer. It was frozen on the "apple" icon, so I resetted the ipod but it would not turn back on. I tried resetting it a few more times but it still wouldnt not turn on, or even show the apple icon. I have only had my ipod video for around 1 month, so it cant be the battery. Any suggestions? Please.

You might have reset it before it was done reflashing the memory. After you update an iPod it needs a minute or so to do that, and while it is doing that the Apple icon is on the screen, although there is a progress bar under it. What happens when you plug it in to your computer?

It can't even be found in my computer? Can you force the iPod into disk mode. Hold down Menu and Center to reset, and then while the Apple logo is on the screen hold down Play and Center until it says Disk Mode or Do Not Disconnect. If you can at least get it to be recognized by your computer you'll be able to format it to FAT 32 and then your updater will recognize it. If you still can't do anything about it and it is under warranty Apple should be able to take care of it for you free of charge.

Nup, it wont even turn on so i cant force it into ipod mode:( I have decided to get Apple to take it back for repair. Thanks for your help guys!

If you could let us know how it goes that'd be great. Just want to know if Apple will fix something like that free of charge. I think they should but you never know.

Yes, I hope they do. I have only had the ipod video for 1 month so its under warranty. I am not willing to pay any money to get it fixed, only because they should fix a technical problem with any ipod for free! I would understand if I had dropped it or something, but charging me for a technical problem with their ipod is just not right. Anyway, I will post here what happens and how long it takes for my ipod back (I have just sent the ipod video off today). 1 question, do they replace the whole ipod like they do when it needs a new battery or will they try to just repair it..If they give me a brand new one, they are wasting a huge amount of money as its a Ipod Video 60GB.

Great news!! Here is what happened:
Friday 7th: Shipped Ipod Video to Apple
Monday 10th: Recieved email from Apple saying they recieved Ipod Video sucessfully
Monday 10th: Later on in the day, I recieved another email from Apple saying that "my service request had been completed and my replacement IPOD 5TH GENERATION was on its way"
Wednesday 12th: I recieved a package from Apple with my BRAND NEW Ipod Video inside.
I think they always give you a new ipod if you get a service request, but they do state they may give you a "used or refurbished ipod" also.
It took only 5 days from when I shipped my Ipod Video to recieving it back (though I didnt have a engraving, it takes 1 week longer if you do) and I was very pleased of how Apple updated my on the status and provided me with a brand new ipod (as my old one had a few scratches...I am getting a protective cover for this one)

Thanks for reporting back. That certaintly did work out for you, and yea Apple is usually pretty good with doing what you want quickly, as long as what you need is in stock.

daniel4 what all did you have to send them in order to get ew/use/refurbished ipod?? Could I send a stolen ipod in....Like do I need a recipt..Or what..hit me back tell me what you all had to tell them and what you all had to send them(info wise)..Peace.1

Chee5e - you will need a receipt/ PoP to return it. I wouldn't recommend sending in a stolen one anyway, as the serial may have been reported as stolen by the rightful owner..
