sorry I cant use this method, I dont have a place to rent GTA, or find the original version of GTA for that matter. So The only way for me is to use a 2.6 downgrader that requires someones 1.5 files.

hi, I just want to be shure if I can downgrade my 2.50 PSP. I check for motherboard and there is no text on right side of UMD port, but between middle and left side, under the metal part, there is a hardly visible text: "IC6001".
Can I downgrade my PSP. I buy it in Germany, Berlin...

hey i bought gta so i can downgrade. can i also put rar files on the psp cause i downloaded field commander and it is a rar file is compatible?
will it break or dammage my psp at all?

it cant harm your psp, but iso's open up in WinRAR so its probably an iso, open up the rar file and you should have a psp_game folder and UMD_DATA.bin file, if this is so its an iso :)

2day i put in gta. and it said that i needed an update to 2.60 or else it would not let me play gta. but anyway it is not like when i downgrade it will ask me to upgrade back to 2.50 when i will play my games (original and downloaded) will it?

if it asked you to upgrade to place hit O to cancel and just emulate the firmware with dev hook to play it. sImple as PIE. Whos gonna refuse Pie and Chips,... It's Pie and Chips.
Im not British, whats Pie and Chips, is it simple easting a piece of Pie and potato chips or french frys(American Lingo)

If it asks you to upgrade to firmware 2.6 or 2.5 that means you dont need to downgrade with this method. If your psp is already downgraded to 1.5 you wont be able to play GTA without a 2.6 devhook.
Anyways, can someone please just help me downgrade with this other method that requires someones 1.5 files? I dont have access to GTA so if someone would just share their files to me that would be really great. you can email them to me.

Am i right when i say that we have to downgrade to v1.5 in order to play backed up games off the mem stick? Can you not do it with a higher version?

i tried to downdate my psp but it did not work because i used gta as required but I beleive the gta I used is a newer patched version of the game. When I ran the Downdate Tester would not run and said it was corrupted, the program could not be started. Can some body tell me if thier is any other way to downgrade!

Ok, hacks and mods only work on 1.5 and lower.
To check if your psp is compatible with downgrades, just open the UMD Drive cover, tilt your psp so that the screen is to your chest and your looking down on the motherboard. now there will be two gaps where the lock should insert if you close the UMD lid, right and left. Somewhere near there you should be able to see it. If you look to the right gap and find ICB001 or IC6001 you will be able to downgrade it, if not you cant.
Another way to downgrade is the way ive been trying to downgrade. Only problem is I need someones 1.5 helper files. I cant post the link here i think, but ill pm you if you ask. So can someone please send a copy of those files and email them to cerebralocelot@hotmail.com. Ill then give them to anybody else who needs them.
