Well actually there's been overflow exploits occuring in Gamesave parts of many games.
There is even an exploit for the Xbox which works just like the GTA exploit (except its a different game ofcourse)

I think this may work, but i don't want to sacrifice my newly downgraded psp. I have a very good flash program (pro) i think maybe i could send it to you. It's got everything u need 2 make professional swf files. I don't really know if your theory will work. I think they have the browser and the swf player pretty encrypted. also, if this did manage to work, i don't think it will alloow access to the flash0 and flah1 folders. I think they have that sh1t patched, but i am willing to help in any way i can.

maybee the swf file could cause an overflow like the 2.0 downgrader and after you exit the browser you could install the 1.5 update from the game menu.(PSP>GAME>UPDATE>EBOOT.PBP)

EDIT (to make this on-topic)
I think that the user would have to download the neccesary files first and then use the swf player to load the application only. Thats the only way to keep the file small

Okay i've read it over and i'm going to get to work on a flash tutorial pretty soon. I still need to know which files go in which folders because if a file goes in the wrong one, that will cause a brick.
@anotomic if you could send it to me that would be great. @eternalis, yes you would have to put the 1.50 dump in a certain directory unless you wanted to reprogram the entire .swf. that would keep the file size down. basically, the flash program is seperate, it doesn't actually contain the firmware dump, it does is seperately. it should run a code which will replace the 2.71 files with the 1.50 dump. also @hodgins, where can i get in contact with zdpooman? because if he could help that would be great. also I had another idea. maybe accessing overflow.tif on your browser with buffer overrun in your background. i could upload .tif on photobucket and put a link on google so it would be accessible. go to google, click on just the overflow.tif, and click view full-size image. i don't know if it could access it from the internet browser, but with the buffer overrun in place, this might work. and @ibjaredu i do have a TA-078/79, i don't really know but I bought my psp with 1.0 firmware and on the box it said psp 1001 which doesn't register on yourpsp.com anymore. but I doubt that this exploit will be exclusive to <2.6 factory PSPs. Thank you all very much for your feedback. Also everyone providing resources and helping me with advice-you will all be included in credit for this if/when it works.

I'm not trying to put a virus or anything, I just wanted to try something new because nobody's tried a new method for an exploit. People have just been rehashing old ideas like the swaploit, or just editing param.sfos. Look I just want to take a stab at it, and when I said a firmware dump or whatever, I just needed to know which files go where. Look i'm not trying to screw anybody over because I don't really know any of you in person and I have no reason to screw anybody over. I just had an idea, and I didn't know how to create it, that's why I wanted the tutorial. if someone wants to try and help me out because maybe I am new to programming flash. I don't want just negative feedback like, "Oh, I don't trust this guy." I'm not trying to screw you up, I just want us to work on this as a community, because that's what forums are.

No!!!!!!!! Instead downgrade to 1.5 and use devhook to emulate fimrware 2.70/2.71..

My question is what makes you feel are qualified to do this? There are genious coders who cant accomplish you goal. Honestly, you dont know to manipulate flash or even that its called "a firmware dump." Having goals is one thing, but not having any knowledge to get those goals in gear and expecting for it all to fall into place is dumb.
