A big thanks to those of you who are willing to help us noobs out.
I have Ys Ark of Nap, but it is isn't an ISO and I am not sure what I am supposed to do with it now.
These are the files I have (->) means a subfolder:
1. PSP -> GAME -> Ys and YS%
2. x -> LOTS OF PRX Files and a folder called flash1 that has syuff in it.
3. YSARKNAP (it is like 400MB and has system files and .bin files
So is this like thr raw data? Do I need to compile an ISO? What do I need to do that?
Thanks

Well put Ys and Ys% into your PSP\GAME folder in your memory stick. Put the X folder in the root of your memory stick. And put the YSARKNAP in the root of your memory stick. Then you can launch your game from the Game-->Memory Stick Menu.

@ vw guy:
will you put a copy of the Ys and Ys% up on http://www.sendspace.com
I've been wanting to hack my ISOs so they will read like that, but I could never figure it out. I wanna take a look at the code...
Thanks,
guano

Yeah, its the RunUMD method, but I've never known how to convert ISOs to that method either.
I know that the YSARKNAP contains the extracted and patched PSP_GAME folder from the ISO and that the X folder is just the normal X folder from RunUMD. But I've never known how to make the two folders in PSP\GAME (Ys and Ys% in this case)

Thanks, I'll have a look at it too.
Did you get the game working?
EDIT: It seems to be either a Hex edit of RunUMD or a complete mod of RunUMD. But I can't find any Hex to change the YSARKNAP directory. Hmmm

Hey Guano I found it!
Go to Hex line: 0059660, and then you can edit the YSARKNAP directory to be named anything you want!

No I dont think you have to do any special config, just use the patcher that I gave a link to.

Sorry for the double post but...
OK, I made a similair launcher but for DevHook.
Download it from here:
http://rapidshare.de/files/25965901/dh04_XMB_mod_eternalis.rar.html
Once you extract that file. Extract the PBP with PBP Unpacker. Next open the DATA.PSP file with a Hex editor.
Then go to the hex location: 000084a0 and replace "Need for Speed is Loading", with whatever your game is is loading.
Then go to hex location:00008620
And change ms0:/NFS to any folder you want. You must put your ISO in this folder
Then go to hex location: 00008060 and change ms0:/dh/nfsmstw.run to ms0:/dh/[whatever you want].run . Can everyone please rename it to a .run file. I want to standardize this.
Now save the file and then remake it to a PBP. You can edit the PARAM.SFO file so it says" "[name of game] launcher".Convert the PBP into a 1.5 format and then copy it to your PSP. The first time you start it, it will be like loading DevHook normally. But the next time it will be like autorun, except it will say "[game name] is loading" and it will load.
This is a very long procedure. And now since I have gotten the hang of C programming, I may make an executable to automate this process.
Tell me what you think of it!
