1. Disable System Restore.
To disable, do the following:
a. Right click on My Computer > Properties
b. Select the System Restore Tab
c. Check "Turn Off System Restore" to disable.
d. Click Apply
e. A message "This deletes all existing restore points" will appear, click Yes to disable.
f. Click OK.

2. Go here and download the trial version of AVG Anti-spyware. Install and update.

3. Go here and download SmitfraudFix. Extract all the files to your desktop, it will create the folder SmitfraudFix.

4. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. (Press F8 at boot, select "Safe Mode" and press Enter)

5. Open the folder Smitfraudfix on your desktop and double-click on smitfraudfix.cmd. "Enter your Choice: (1,2,3,4,L,Q):" Select option 2. Wait for process to finish. (If prompted for: Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry? Press Y, for Yes).

6. It will check if your wininet.dll file is damaged, if so it will ask you to "Replace Infected File?" Press Y as Yes and press Enter.

7. Open AVGAS and do a "Complete system scan". Set all items to "Delete" then click "Apply all actions".

8. Restart in normal mode and scan with an online scanner such as ActiveScan or Kaspersky to be sure you're clean.

9. Last, remember to re-enable System Restore. Uncheck Disable System Restore.

Hopefully this will help the enormous amount of people having trouble with w32.Myzor.FK@yf.

Stay clean, stay free!

Must give credit to http://www.precisesecurity.com for removal information help.

Edit: updated to AVGAS.

Glad to help. Thank you for saying how you got this. First I've heard of where it comes from. Now I see why so many people have it.

Hi there, thanks for the information which I have carried out. But when I download and use active scan it informs me :
Virus 0 0
Spyware 1 0
Hacking Tools and potentially unwanted tools 5 0
Dialers 0 0
Security Risks 0 0
Suspicious files 0 0

I presume that I have not performed your help properly, can you help me please?.

Ok, personally I haven't used ActiveScan from Panda. I use the Titanium 2006 full. The active scan doesn't delete them or give you the option to do so? If not, I would recommend getting the full program here.

http://www.pandasoftware.com/download?sitepanda=particulares

It will delete on contact.

hi. i tried all of that plus some other stuff from other forums including HijackThis (which i dont get at all!) and ewido-spyware. my homepage no longer gets redirected to another site but everytime i open internet explorer i still get a popup saying that my computer is infected..and if i click 'next' it takes me to this site that sells anti-spyware programs....please help! im getting so frustrated. i read some other forums and most of the time..people who used SmitFraudFix got rid of the virus completely, pop-ups and all. So i must have done something wrong.

heres my HijackThis log if it helps...i dont know what's bad and what's good..ahhh

I am still getting pop-ups and I am getting redirected to a different home page whenever I log on saying that I am infected with this Myzor virus.
I was looking through this scan and there are two with missing files, what are those? Thanks for the help.

The missing files are not your problem. This is the culprit!

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5753791b-f607-48ca-814e-91c14d081f9e} - C:\Program Files\IntCodec\isaddon.dll

Download, install, update. Run in safe mode. http://info.prevx.com/downloadremove.asp

Then boot in normal mode, if ^ above entry is still showing in HijackThis, download SmitFraudFix, extract to desktop, run SmitFraudFix.cmd in safe mode.

After either or both scans reboot in safe mode with networking. Run this, http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

Post new HijackThis log after that, there are still some entires that need to be rid but, I won't list them to you finish that.

Also, run another scan only using HijackThis, check to fix these:

O16 - DPF: {5D86DDB5-BDF9-441B-9E9E-D4730F4EE499} (BDSCANONLINE Control) - http://download.bitdefender.com/resources/scan8/oscan8.cab (because you uninstalled BitDefender)

O21 - SSODL: bestreak - {874443fe-aa33-4ebf-a6ac-73208787e62d} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\viruxz.dll (file missing)

Fix those and you'll be alright! I will get back to you on the Prevx thing and then you can PM me(to save space) a new log.

Edit:The Prevx 1 Jail is a secure area which is used to automatically isolate harmful programs so that they cannot be run and cause damage. You can view the Prevx 1 Jail at any time to review its contents. At that time you can choose to lock harmful programs permanently in Jail, delete or place them in the Holding Cell (which means that they will override Prevx 1's default settings and will be allowed to be run).*

*Got that from here: http://info.prevx.com/faq.asp#27

It should be an option somewhere where you can see the itmes in jail. Any problems, just ask. Oh, and post a new log after fixes.

Hello! I need help. My browser's homepage has been set to http://www.safetyhomepage.com and I can't get rid of it. Niobis said I have w32.Myzor.Fk@yf and should post here. I tried using Spy Sweeper but the link provided here is for the scan only version and it won't clean anything, so I used Ewido instead. Also, I can't run SmitFraudFix because it tells me that Process.exe is missing. Here's the HijackThis log. Thank you!
