hmmn this is a good find, a very simple approach for controlling pc media player.
i think he didnt get virus/trojan from playerpal or his anti-virus / firewall is reporting wrong. yes i do agree ports have to be open or allowed through firewall like any other program/game that involves network connection to work.
sorry to say to playerpal, but i think Portable VNC can do lots more than play/pause/skip/volume for media players it can control your PC.
you can even do it halfway accross the globe wherever psp wifi is available. talk about monitoring who is using your pc while your away or getting files from your pc to your psp.

Hi xche78x,

I have heard others talking about Portable VNC too. I have not had a chance to try it out yet.

PlayerPal is all about music and album art and usability. It was never intended to be PC remote control software, and it never will be. The clue is in the names of both bits of software :)

That's what I love about software. There are lots of specialist niches and there are lots of programs for you guys to choose from!

i havent tried both, i dont have wifi router yet.
as i see this, if i havent seen this playerpal topic i wouldnt have known about it, thank the guy for spreading info about your program.
try it later when i save enough for a wifi router.
