Alright, but now I'll flip the tables.
1. A: They just came out with the firmware. B: They came out with the firmware in part to patch the GTA exploit in 2.0-2.6.
2. They made that mobo to prevent future downgraders from running the 1.5 firmware. They had to go out of there way in order to do that.
3. That's their agenda. Not only that, but they'd get sued if they didn't have an "anti-homebrew campaign". They also lose profits if people buy PSPs soley for homebrew, therefore the need to keep patching exploits.
4. Same as above.
5. Again, same as number 3.
6. Once again, coincides with 3.
I'd be damned to say that Sony is ahead considering they have engineers and software tech on a payroll while homebrew lives on by people hacking the PSP for the love/heck of it.

i think if people r not buying umd gta is compulsory and do the mem stick drop frm sky sony makes mem stick necessary for homebrew i agree v have competed to an excellent extent if i would have known programming i would have spend days and night 2 break the sony's new security of their treasure everybody likes sony for Playstation and mem stick and hates it for firmware same here with me one side i like sony for psp and hate it for fw and expensive things

i hope it works i want to downgrade one of my psp's and yeah sony dosent realy lose money since they sell so many things and its the comps that make the game's like ubi soft or midway that lose since they invest on the games

All of Sony's divisions are in the red except for 3-4. The Playstation brand is what keeps that company alive. And, they lose money on every single one of their consoles sold so if people don't start buying more of Sony's games and accessories, bye bye Sony.
Just a lil fact. It's rumored that Sony has spent $2,000,000,000 R&Ding and advertising the PS3.
They also just took out an 800 million dollar bank loan sometiime in the last 18 months.

sony doesnt make games ok if it is its one or two the brands makin games are EA, ubi soft etc once v buy psp they r done with us and of course v cant save the money of accesories sony sells

No but they're a games publisher and they also license out their UMDs to game developers. Whenever a UMD game is sold, Sony gets a piece of those profits.

like i was saying sony makes money one way or anouther like dakid said and after they sell the umd's they already made thier money so it dosent mater if the game sells or not since they already sold the umd's

Ok, but let's say the UMDs that EA produce don't sell and have very little sales. Then when it comes time that EA produces another game, they decide not to produce a PSP version of the game, since the cost of developing the game won't break even with game sales. Sony then loses another development house which takes money out of their pockets because they don't have EA buying their UMD license.
If other gamehouses follow trend, then the money that Sony gets from these companies is lost. With no incoming money from the PSP, there's no way to make up the R&D cost and cost of producing each PSP. Eventually something will have to give.

It's not guranteed that Sony will make money in the long run. That's why they make consoles, hoping that they'll break even if not earn a truckload of cash with their game sales and accessories. They lose money on every console sold, though.

and i dont thing the whole world of psp owners play iso game through devhook do they. there r more than 70% people playin umd and buying it and the guys playing iso buy big memsticks frm sony and playing iso procedure even bricks psp sometimes leading 2 more psp sales and also sometimes spareparts r needed
