i answered the question in your other post about what drive to buy. Dont be doble posting, though in this case it is a seperate topic. If you double post you will find less people answer, not more. People on this forum are more likey to get involved in a debate.

Oriphus, double posting is caused by a server error 99% of the time so lay off, especially when you are talking with a guy who seriously has earned his senior member status! Having a go at members like that will get you nowhere on this forum!

Yep: Oriphus, you just had a go at Rotary over nothing. Perhaps your time would be better spent helping rather than 'taking a stab' at an established aD member.

The Pioneer 106 is a dual-format burner but I'd be tempted to suggest the use of DVD-R other than DVD+R for burning.
Both for cost & stand alone DVD player compatibilty..

hi all

i will have a look at these:
DVD Decrypter
DVD2One
Nero
one thing though and please correct me if i'm wrong? but DVD Shrink is it for both formats? as i have read somewhere its only + format?
read this?
----------------------------
DVD Shrink doesn't come with DVD-R burning engine, read here how to burn the Shrink's results to DVD-R with Nero.

Dvd shrink rips and compresses
doesnt matter which + or - your going to burn to but you need Nero or record now to do the burning

Yeah It can also rips it to so you dont have to use DVD Decrypter.

ok, help on usage guys! is this ok?
1, use dvddecrpter/dvdshrink to get dvd file to hard drive - with de macro?
2, then use dvd20ne to shrink it to one dvd-r?
3, burn with Nero!
is this the order and is there anything settings wise i should change?
thx...

If your going to use DVD2One i would use DVD Decrypter instead of shrink
probably doesnt matter but this is the way a lot of people do it including me do it
everything else looks good

No when you go to programs ahead Nero there should be ont that says Nero burning rom or Nero enterprise edition this is what should be used
If its not there makes sure Your DVD writer is selected in Nero express at the top.
you can switch if the cd and dvd writer are different
