look the compression level from 1 to 9, 1 = Large but Fast, and 9 = Small but Slow, means if i use compression level 9, the file size goes small, but the game go slow means LAG.

lord try level 1 then instead of 9.but i think level 2 and 3 has no problem.im using umdgen 3.5 to compress my games there is no problem or lags on them.

wonderful! i'm done with the guide and able to select/see iso icons on either ms or usb host (pressing HOME). how can i start the iso game after pressing HOME? do i need any other launcher on top of DEVHOOK? thx
PS running ver2.71 without emu 1.5 indeed ms has no room for fw 1.5
PSP 2.6 on TA-082 32MB MS

after pressing HOME choose the iso game that u want to play then move the analog stick "right" then go to game then UMD.now u can play the game u want.
playing on USB move the analogstick LEFT twice,you should see a FOLDER called ISO link from usbhost now move the analogstick RIGHT and choose your game.then go to games then UMD.play your games have fun
burgiju,are you using windows xp to play on usb or 98.if you are using 98 you should go to control panel add a new hardware.
but wait till tomolo i will get a webcam

kealvalro, i just got an ISO (on my usb host) work after putting a UMD in. thx
but when i started the XMB-BOOT[usus-00001].cso on the ms ISO folder (though i could hear the song when the icon highlighted), i got an error telling i needed a fw ver9.99? when does it mean?

burgiju then it should detect,how come it doesn't.nevermind i will check.
pistachio in devhook change the SFO version to 2.xx to 2.00 then it should work.but if it doesn't try taking out the umd and put it back then start

kealvalro, your guide is great, i got dev hook working and everything, but i'm having problems with the devhook settings. These are the settings you suggested:
UMD SELECT :
firmware : 2.71 , not the nandflash
clock : 222/111
thumbnail mode : enable
Auto DISC ID : enable
MORE OPTIONS>>>>UMD SFO VERSION : 2.xx to 2.00
REMOTE CTRL : remote controller
preload address : 0x98200000
autorun : disable
screenshots : disabled
ADD-ON MENU>>>>>XMB SCREENSHOT : enable
HEN(2.71 only) : enable
press on start in the devhook menu.
4.hold the HOME[/bold} button for three sec then use the analog to move,ok now set these final settings
When i go to UMD Select, XMB-BOOT[usus-00001].cso is not available..my only options are --UMD Disc--, usbhostfs0:/(which it wont allow me to select), and the actual iso itself (GTA LCS is what im trying to play)
Also, the preload address in your guide (0x98200000) is not available in the list of addresses. I'm thinking one or both of these things is the problem because when I connect my PSp to my PC using USBHostFS, the GTA thumbnail comes up when I press home but when i move the analog stick right nothing happens. Any ideas?? If you can come up with a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, as I was re-reading your guide, I noticed I might've misinterpreted one of your steps.
3.move "flash0","flash1","reboot.bin" to memorystick 150 path make sure "reboot bin" is the folder.
Did you mean make sure "reboot bin" is IN the folder or did you mean make the folder's name "reboot bin"..please get back to me..I'm so close to getting this to work, I know it's just one thing i'm doing wrong..ANYTHING would be of great help to me..thx

jay flash0,flash1 and reboot.bin should be in the folder 150.
and about the game did u extract the iso game into the iso folder.if so how big is the size.
when u select a umd.does it show gta lcs.

i still couldn't find firmware 1.5 from devhook menu. how can i switch to ver1.5 from 2.71? when do i have to use 1.5? required by some iso game? thx a lot.

Yup, i already had flash0, flash1 and reboot in the 150 folder. And yes, when i hit home and go to the ISO folder, the gta icon shows at the bottum left side of the screen, and the blue dev hook PSP cover appears at the right as well..but when i hit right on the anolog stick nothing happens...can not having your exact dev hook settings be the problem? My address is different and I can't get that option you listed for UMD Select....also, GTA LCS is 834 MB...it might be a bad iso..i'll try a different one...post a possible solution if u think u have one...thnx

I switched isos, i tried playin socom ftb2, i push the analog stick right, the game loaded and now I have the blank screen problem...

jay my friend 1.50 is only for homebrews lol!!!.if u want to play iso games better to say retail games just emulate 2.71.
that means in devook switch the firmware to 2.71 and then try to play this time

i realize this might be a stupid question ..... but i did the tutorial and everything, but where do i put the iso? do i put it in the main directory for the memstick and make a folder called ISO??

I was also trying to play it off the memory stick and was able to get the "dummy disc" and the upgrade to 9.99 firmware popup..is there anyway I could play it off that?? thnx

u have to press home and choose your game.
or even better in devhook choose a iso game there
firmware 2.71
sfo version 2.xx to 2.00
eneble henc thats all.
if u still can't make it i will make a video soon.but will take time
also burgiju is waiting for a video to run iso via usb.so please be a bit patient

i went into dev hook itself and selected the game and hit start but it just restarts the psp and doestn do anything. im trying to play medal of honor

sweet thanks man, i was forgetting to put the umd disc in. ok so ive tried out medal of honor and marvel ultimate alliance and they work so far .... but then i tried killzone: liberation and it wont work? i get an error with a bunch of numbers after it tries loading. is there special settings needed for this perticular game?
